A month ago, Fatso Dong gave me a call. He is my classmate of senior high school and has a fiery temper. People who can’t understand him always hate him like poison, but I like him. He is one of my best friends and can be called rough diamond.

We met during junior high school, but we didn’t know each other then. During the days of junior high school, the living condition was really poor for us. In summer, we didn’t even have enough cold water to take a shower and had to stand in a long line to fetch water with basin. Fatso Dong was a big fat guy then and always jumped the queue. Thin guys like me didn’t dare to say anything to offend him.

When we became classmates of senior high school, I referred the water-fetching thing to him and he was in a haw-haw. Why did we become good friends? Because I was good with arts and he always envied those guy good with arts. He liked to read my article and I enjoyed his compliments. So we often went outside to have dinner together.

One time, in a small restaurant, Dong told the boss to cook a snakehead for three Yuan and the boss sneered him out of countenance, “Three Yuan? You want to have snakehead, are you in a fever?”Dong was really so awkward then. He was a fatso and had no reason to dislike meat, but when we had dinner together, he rarely picked meat up and only ate vegetables. I have to say my habit of writing  is formed partly because of him.

 Now he is in Inner Mongolia and decided to settled down with his girlfriend. Probably it is difficult for us to have dinner and chat together, but the friendship between us is still as strong as before. Remember him just now and hence write something about him here.
