Hung graduated from college in 2006. He was the oldest of his class and did nothing special during college.
Hung never washed clothes or sheet and always brought them to his mother once a month. For the whole four years of college, he never bought soap to wash something or himself, the shopkeeper downstairs probably cried his eyes out.
Studying wasn’t his choice, Hung lay in bed most of the time and read novels. All of a sudden, he found he was still single and became a little jealous of others’ love.
Remembering his high school classmate Ju in the same college, Hung decided to date her. Dressing himself up for three hours, Hung came back sulkily. Roommate asked him why, he replied, “I don’t even have to show my intent because I know she’ll refuse me. I knew it by judging her eyes.” The other guys in his dorm were all silent by his amazing speech, or else what should they say?
Someone won prizes, someone had sweet love, someone became student leader, and Hung only envied them again and again. Sometimes, he knew he wasted time and decided to study hard, but his passion vanished even quicker then rainbow.
After graduation, Hung didn’t look for a job for he knew he couldn’t get a job. He always thought he knew something, actually, it’s only he though he know. He volunteered to be a teacher, of course, in junior high school; for he knew he didn’t have ability to be a teacher in senior high school.
When he became
thirty, he didn’t have courage to date a girl. Blind date seemed to be his only
choice. He was refused by girls again and again until someone didn't refuse
him, then that girl became his wife without doubt.
Some of his students earned much more
than him, hence Hung was angry about the unfair world, but he ignored the fact
that his students couldn't be his students forever.
Seeing other people’s wives being both pretty and tender, his own common-looking and irritable, Hung felt the world treated him unfairly. He had a belly of irritation and his son was the only person he could order around. Under the influence of his mother gradually, even the son didn't treat Hung seriously either, because he believed his mother and thought his father was so incompetent. In a word, the son thought his father had no qualification to teach him.
Hung sighed all day, but never thought of improving himself. When he was available, Hung chatted with other idle guys merrily, or played Mahjong, or slept like a log for a whole day, and then his irritation vanished suddenly. When he had to work again, all irritation returned to him.
Day after day, year after year, Hung gained nothing but his old age.
