    I used to heard of classical Chinese lady introduced herself by saying she was only two eight, now I’m two eight too. Only her two eight is sixteen and my two eight is twenty-eight.

My boss told us what to do for the year 2013 today and I’d like to tell myself what to do for the year 2013. In 2013, I’ll still support myself by technology and entertain myself by literature and history. Owning this kind of simple life is also a kind of happiness. I don’t have strong desire on material enjoyment. Having books to read is enough for me now, so I feel lucky I live near UT Library, however, which doesn’t mean non-struggle.

As long as I’m alive, I’d like to improve myself every day. In Jin Yong’s novel, there is a guy Dugu Qiubai. He achieves the peak on the swordsmanship and I’m really envious. Poor me, I don’t have talent and have to use diligence to compensate my dullness. A man can have a powerful name---seeking defeat without success to own loneliness. Having no talent but the desire of doing something, I have to use perseverance as my only weapon. Cavities can prove the power of perseverance.

From the talk of my boss, I learnt something. Whatever we do, we should make it business. As long as you make it business, you have to take care of the quality. Quality is more important than quantity. Jin Yong is no doubt the best writer on Wuxia, but he has only 14 works, the quantity of which is really small comparing to other less famous writers. Some writers can write hundreds of books, none of which I’ve heard of.

Making a product, you have to pay attention to both appearance and performance. Being a human, you have to pay attention to both appearance and ability too.

There’re so many books in UT Library. I should focus on history and literature. There is a group of Chinese history books wrote by Cai, of which I think it’s really great. There is also a group of western literature books, which can be called great too. I don’t need to think of reading other books before I finish those two groups.

Every time I become fickle, books can calm me down and make me peaceful. Only by reading, I can make myself a peaceful person.
