I always want to be a good reader, which means I have to be excellent on both reading speed and understanding. 100% of understanding is of course the most perfect. Read a page in a blink of eyes is perfect too.

     In order to improve my reading speed, I read several books on fast reading and found none of them useful. They said nothing useful to improve my reading speed. I only got a useful hint from a book with name Photograph Reading, which is ‘every time I read too fast to understand, I’ll be nervous to slow my speed. A reader without understanding is wrong, but reading with intentional understanding is worse’. From which I know one can’t get a limit on himself even before he tries it. Common people always like using the word impossible a lot.

     Is it possible to read a page with 100% of understanding in a blink of eyes? Of course there is a positive answer to it. Before the invention of plane, I’m sure a lot of people said it was impossible for human to fly in the sky. Yeah, currently nobody can answer the question. After graduation from school, I gradually know there are so many questions without existed answer in the society. At school, we always have existed answer for every question.

     The book name Photograph Reading is nice. If you insist on reading word by word, of course you can’t read a page in a blink of eyes. If you insist on reading sentence by sentence, of course it’s impossible to achieve too. I hope I could get some useful methods to improve my reading speed without sacrifice of understanding. Page reading seems to be communism to me and I only want to learn socialism---paragraph reading.

     Reading is the most important way to get knowledge right now. In the age of information explosion, reading speed and understanding are no doubt really important. Of course our final purpose is to get wisdom, but wisdom comes from knowledge. Without knowledge, one has only instinct left.
