Renew the driving license

Today my advisor Zhu wanted to get his driving license renewed, for it had only several days left before expiration. Once run over the time limit, he would have to get retested before he get the new licese, that's boring and awful. So he asked me and another girl Tang to go with him.
Zhu drove we to the vehicle administration office, and we had some twists and turns before we got all the things finished. First we went the wrong way, so Tang got off the car to ask a few pedestrians for help, including a taxi driver. Finally a kindhearted woman told us the right way. When we got there, one hour had passed.
At first sight we went into the lobby, we saw only a few personnels working there. We needed to fill in two papers, the application one and the healthy certification. What made we feel uncomfortable was that we had to go out first to get his eyes tested, and the place is 2oo meters away in a very small room at the corner of the street. After we submitted all the documents acquired, the personnel told us to wait for a few minutes.At last we got all this done. When we drove back into the school, it's already 4 o'clock...

- In countries outside China, a driving licence is valid for 10 years and expire on your birthday so it is easy to remember the expiry date. If you forget to renew your licence, it is no problem, you can still renew it anytime within 3 years after the expiry date. There is no eyesight test unless you are over 75 years of age. You can also get an international licence for 50 yuan and you can drive in 60 other countries in the world.

But I think it is imporsible to get the international license in our country.

- now the privite family cars have been becoming more and more, especially in city, really a social question any driver must face. so all the things about cars become a trouble to deal with. if driving license needn't renew or for a long time to renew, what a nice thing. but seems not realistic in china,hehe..

But I think it is imporsible to get thYes, unfortunately China did not sign the international convention on International driver licences, therefore, China drivers cannot drive in other countries and foreigners cannot drive in China.
