The Girl In Red

1727 views. 2012-4-2 15:59 |Individual Classification:chatters|

I always saw her at the bus station during the rush hours...

Most of the time, she wore red, cotton, woolen, sweaters, shirts and dresses. You could guess how striking the color red could be among all the colors. Red must be her favorite color, I assumed...

Judging from her age, she was a teenage; might be a high-school student or a freshman at college. But I never saw she taught to any high school students or colleges around. She was always alone, waiting for the bus or getting off the bus...I tried to talk to her by praising her red cloth, however she just smiled back. She seldom talked on the phone or texted, but enjoyed watching the crowds passing by while waiting. I even followed her angle to see if there was anyone particular in a distance, but there wasn’t...

Things don’t have regular answers inspire people, including me...... So one evening, I secretly followed her on her bus......I have to say I’m not a stalker; I’m female and I’m just curious...I was very cautious to keep a few feet away from her, try to stay out of her sight and cover my image behind the taller. But she spotted me after two stops anyway. It felt a bit awkward, so I smiled to reply her politely staring......Thank God she didn’t shout out and interrogate me, otherwise I wouldn’t know what to say, because I had no clue where the bus headed at all...My smile had been frozen in the air for seconds until she turned her head away silently. To avoid the further embarrassment, I got off the bus at the next stop. Then I stood on the platform, expecting her to show me any emotional expression, hatred or offended, but she didn’t even give me a glimpse... ...The next morning, I saw her at the usual bus station again. I was very glad that she appeared; furthermore, she didn’t wear red that time......Well, at least it meant that she wasn’t mad at me...We didn’t talk or nod. She got on her bus and I got on mine. That evening, I didn’t see her. I guessed she might be earlier or later......The next morning, either, and the next, and the next...

I was totally speechless about this outcome......Maybe she was offended at all, maybe she changed her bus line, maybe she moved to another place, or maybe she just found her reason to finish what she started...No one knows the whole situation except her; or no one had been so curious except me...Or maybe, I did exaggerate a bit...

When I told my friend the whole story days later, she rolled her eyes and asked me: “Did you ever touch her?”...I was confused: “No. Why?”... She whispered: “She could be a ghost.”...This time, I was completely lost...
