Should divorce have any positive effects?

   Do you believe parents divorce influence their children deeply and sustainably? In 2009, the Ministry of Civil Affairs reported a‘Development of Civil Affairs Statistics Bulletin', indicating more than one million and seventy hundred thousand couples having divorce, which has a 10 percent increase than last year. The divorce rate in China is increasing with acceleration. Of course divorces bring us negative effects on education, crime, atmosphere of society.

   First, divorce really make negative influence on childern's education.even with the payment of child support to the custodial parent,divorce causes a severe reduction in household income. The transition from a two parent household to a single parent home can mean poverty for many families,the decrease of income can not guarantee the children receive regular education.In addition,parental conflicts,one of factors leading up to divorce, as well as the trauma of the divorce itself, induce negative feelings in children such as resentment, disappointment, loneliness, rejection and insecurity.This can lead to increased anxiety and depression, which has been influenced a child's school performance.

     Another troubling effect of divorce is high crime rate, according to the study suggest that the children from divorced families have higher crime rate than those from non -divorced families.Robert Sampson,sociology professor of university of Chicago,said that divorce rate can predict one community crime rate no matter what kind of economic and race consisted in this community,and he find that the lower divorce rate ,the lower crime rate. In addition,according to statics from Wisconsin indicating the divorce rate of the youth who parents are divorced is higher than those the parents are not divorced. From this divorce is not be ignored factors in crime.

    Last but not least, stable marriage is one of the most important symbol of social stability and family happiness, family is cell of society, only family harmony first, and then social harmony. Many factors of non-peaceful family will affect society and do harm to it. Many people concerned divorce fight feverous with each other instead of resolving dissension in peace. In order to get the guardianship of children and property, they fight with each other. The divorce violence can even cause relatives of both sides to have conflict, which wastes most of energy of family and harms family harmony and even social stability.  What’s more, civil dispute can become criminal offense and harm family and society seriously.

     All in all, the divorce mind and its action can bring negative effect on education, crime rate, atmosphere of  society. In a civil society, if divorce is common, then that won’t be called a kind of civility and progress, only degradation. So people should take all aspects into consideration if they want to divorce with each other.
