There are lots of implicit meaning in English phrases and sentences, we must understand them bit by bit, and we can't use them at random.
There may be many words and phrase to express one thing but in different occassion, there may be just a suitable/appropriate one.
Like "going to toilet", at home with your family, you may say 'I go poo poo', but in a formal party, you may need to say, 'excuse me, I need to wash my hands'. If you are in public place, you should ask where the restroom is.
Such as some american may use 'John' or 'Mary' to describe toilet, but it is not suitable to use in formal occasions, only suitable for the occassions like in bar.
