Say something about today

734 views. 2012-2-21 12:17 |

I begin Today with seeking one of my socks that has been lost after I get washed. Luckily I find it on the ground, but I live on the fourth floor of our apartment. Then, I have my breakfast with Lynn, taking a bowl of porridge and some dumplings. Instead of stimulating Lynn to complain about the nasty breakfast, we change to the topic that is also unwelcome, postgraduate study, since I have decided to give up my chasing of it right after I came back to school.
Then, we separate since Lynn want to read some magazines in our school library, and I walk to building 3 with another classmate.Fascinated by The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, I take out this book and begin to read, Actually, it is a book that is written both in Chinese and English, which makes it easier to be understood. As we know, the original one of English novels will be much more difficult to read. That's why I borrow ten books of such kind  from our library before the winter holiday begins, of which aim is only to keep my sense of English in case that my poor speed of reading English will not improve but lag behind others.
I nearly finish the book when a message comes so fast that I need to receive my parcel from Amazon as I have bought several books online concerned with French and Lingustics the other day. I have no choice but to get my eyes off the book and leave the classroom. Then I choose to phone Lynn to have our lunch by the way. To avoid the long path to go back to my dormitory to fetch my purse, I ask my roomate, Xenia, for help. It is interesting of how to get the purse.
On the way to get my parcel, I meet the man that I don't really want to encounter. As a matter of fact, I show my congratulations on his pass of CET-4, 431, by giving some candies on his desk secretly. But I just refuse to meet with him or lunch with him, as it is so embarrassing for his showing admirations for me.
Time to stop, next time, my story continues.

Your English seems quite good and I wonder how you learnt it. Well done. Talking about socks, I have always been wondering why our socks go missing mysteriously. I have 30 incomplete pairs of socks with either the left or right socks missing. Some of my friends also have the same problem. They told me to tie the pairs of socks in a knot after washing. It helps but the problem continues.

Thank you, but I feel somewhat ashamed of my English since I am an English major, I mean, nearly to graduate. To learn English, as a Chinese, I think I should owe to my interest of it. As an old saying goes, interest is the best teacher of us. By the way, I was wondering if you are a foreigner, I mean, to me. Do you live in America? Have you been to China?

In terms of socks, I might think maybe somebody are interested in our socks or maybe they are blown away by the natural force. One good way to solve the problem I think it is to use the clip to tie them to the hanger. or just dry them somewhere that is not easy to be blown away.

I get to know something from your personal information in your blog. You are so lucky to study in Shanghai Foreign Language School, which is a place that so many students have dreamed of. But I was wondering why do you feel bored and what is your major?

Well, you seem to be negative about your job and your life, but just think about it, a thousand miles begins with a single step, life is just beginning with something that we haven't experienced before. We are young, so we still need to be patient, either to catch the chance to promote ourselves or find some joy from our present job. Therefore, I advice you to see something good from our daily routines, like the kind people, the beautiful nature. I hope you can reflesh yourself soon, good luck.

Haha, somebody interested in my socks.... I have suspected that for some time so I will have to install a video camera to check if the cat is trying to be funny with my socks.

Yes, I have to agree that the essential requirement for suceess in learning English is your own interest in the language. English is indeed a useful language because wherever you go in the world, you are bound to meet someone who speaks English. Right, I am a foreigner, British citizen living in Hong Kong. Seems you are in Guangzhou and quite near to me. I am living in Hong Kong. Cheers.

Oh, your being fond of watching TV instead of reading novels is just like one of my roomates. Reading can, to a great extent, allow us to sense the beauty of language, which is what TV programs can not take place of. What's more, nowadays, a lot of movies are adapted from famous works but not original anymore, or just delete some of the plots. That's why I love reading.

I have been living in Hong Kong since my birth and I was born in Hong Kong. I attended university in London, England for 4 years. My parents  lived at Shamian Island, Guangzhou where foreigners lived at that time.
