Last Saturday ,my GF and I went to She Shan, a much-travelled district not far from the heart of Shanghai, to have a long overdue weekend get-away. Not only did we really have a ball during our weekend, but also our “son” ,a 7-month-old Samoyed dog puppy whom we brought along,, was extremely crazy during the whole outing.
It was almost evening when we got to She Shan. After hurriedly checking into our hotel, we rushed to Song Jiang university city directly. As a monotonous regularity, my GF walked Xiao bao (our pup’s name) for its routine poo and pee ,while I followed the mother and son like a real ass-kisser .As we all know ,it is notoriously difficult to walk dogs on a crowded street ,but ,in fact ,it was not that bad ,because my GF got a lot of head turns due to Xiao Bao’s cute looks ,and of course, so did I .All the people passing by us wanted to pet Xiao bao and couldn’t stop saying “what a beautiful dog” .every time Xiao bao heard the praise ,he would keep a straight face with chin up and chest out , as if he owned the world and didn’t even give a shit !
After walking Xiao bao and getting him settled back into the car, we found a greasy spoon ,actually ,the student’ s cafeteria ,to have a “cheaper” dinner .we ordered Sichuan and An hui cuisine which were really delicious !having dinner in the cafeteria and seeing so many students reminded me of my own college life .although I can’t compare university cafeteria food with that served in star-rated hotels ,but, however, i would go so far to say that the atmosphere there isn't uncomfortable at all. Like the similar structure saying ,I ate up the busy ambience instead of the real food!
When it comes to the highlights of this trip ,I have to bring up the hotel ,Thames, which is situated in a relatively isolated quaint little town just off North San Xin Road .The atmosphere there is tranquil and serene ,sharply contrasting with shanghai’s hustle and bustle. We stayed in a room with a lake-side view, which we could admire from our French windows. We could appreciate the budding weeping willows waving in response to gusts of wind outside. In the morning ,we relaxed on the patio, taking in the fresh air ,stretching ourselves ,and enjoying the first light of the dawn. whoever can resist the hypnotizing effect of such natural spectacles?.
I think it is a wonderful journey !not only did we relieve us of the dull ,repetitive clerical work ,but also it mirrored our experience of our last trip to Si chuan where we fell in love with each other!
