I am lucky to have the opportunity to study in the Washington DC for one year, and seven months have already passed. I would like to share my feelings to you if you are also interested in going abroad.
First of all, most Americans are very kind people. The most common words that I heard are " Have a good day". The Americans usually say simple words, but quite fast. You have to get used to their fast speaking. However, if you want to speak like a American, you must keep on studying every day. English words are much more abundant than Chinese. Only speaking is not enough, you need also to do some reading, listening. Though there are frustrations along the way, there are also some interesting experience. Enjoy the experience!
Additionally, I am taking classes in the George Washington University. The adviser and the students look like friends, and the students are just call their advisor's name. Their teaching method is similar to ours, but the teacher will not forget to mention " Any questions?" before the class over every time. I often have no question because I can not understand well. However, the teacher usually give us papers and PPT to read after class, which is quite important to me to review before the exam.
I do not like to write a lot, but I will keep on writing! See you around.
