I went to the Smithsonian National Zoological Park on Saturday, and spent the whole day rambling along the park. The whether was quite warm and sunny. People love to go outside during the weekend. As the kids love animals, parents usually choose to go the zoo. So there are a lot of people and it was very crowded. But never mind, I have a lot of time. Just be patient!
The first animal shown was a cheetah, but I did not see his face, because he backed to the tourists. It seemed that he had no interested in humans. The cheetah is a champion sprinter, and runs down its prey in a burst of speed. Its success lies in its incredible ability to accelerate. The next carnivore was a maned wolf, which looks like a red fox. It has very strong-smelling urine to announce their presence to other wolves.
The third one that I want to introduce is the black tailed Prairie dog. They are very cute, but their ears are small. So it looks like a little bald when they stand in front of you. They can take they delicious food into their mouth with both hands like human beings! What a lovely guy!
