Madame Tussauds Hong Kong

Madame Tussauds Hong Kong is a museum exhibiting the wax likenesses of world famous people. The founder, Madame Tussaud (1761-1850), was an outstanding artist in France, well known all over the world for her wax products. The headquarters of Madame Tussauds museum is in London. Madame Tussauds Hong Kong, at Peak Tower on Victoria Peak, opened to the public in 2000. This was the first Madame Tussauds in Asia and has on display 100 wax figures of celebrities. Since its opening, it has drawn the attention of numerous visitors.
 
On August 30th, 2005, Madame Tussauds Hong Kong closed for extensions and reopened in March, 2006. The extension cost 20 million HK dollars. The renovations brought a splendid new appearance and provided more audio enjoyment and interactive activities.

The wax museum can be divided into a number of exhibition areas. Five of them are: Hong Kong Glamour, Music Icons, Historical and National Heroes, World Premiere and The Champions. In Hong Kong Glamour, you can see Hollywood A-list stars and be invited to mingle with celebrities, or you can wear fashionable clothes and have your photo taken with the world's most famous couple, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. If you want to get on stage and sing a song with your favorite musical stars, you can go to Music Icons because musical stars from 1960s to today are all here; Elvis Presley, Teresa Teng Ley, Anita Mui are among your choices. In the Historical and National Heroes, you can dress up as one of the important members of the royal family of Britain, or as the former President Bush and give a speech to the public, or

stand alongside President Hu Jintao. World Premiere provides a stage for you to perform in part of a film with Hollywood actors and actress. You can take as many photos as you want. You can go to the Champions exhibit and stand on the Prize-awarding platform to experience as Liu Xiang the exciting moment in accepting the Gold medal.         

The most popular exhibit room of Madame Tussauds in London is The Chamber of Horrors. In Madame Tussauds Hong Kong, you can have similar experience in Scream. Notorious villains, the most dangerous criminals and killers test your courage with each step forward in the darkened room which is full of hidden corridors and horrible screams. Seeing the sinister faces, you cannot help trembling with fear.

After the unusual journey, you can make some acquisitions in The Retail Shop. A full range of exciting souvenirs including small wax figures, hands and glass cubes will dazzle you.

Tips:
1. Children under 12 are allowed into the museum only if accompanied by an adult.
2. No food is allowed in the museum.
3. Professional photographers are provided to take photos for visitors with the wax figures.
