What does an English interpreter do?
To be good at both English and Chinese and ride over them. Just like on the journey to the West, the Great Monk needed to understand the exotic cultures and felt it his obligations to build up the bridge between different worlds, he interpreted.

英文口译是英语和中文都了得,并将这两语言驰骋的人.
英文口译就像当日的唐三藏历西经艰途,异域文化的冲突他得明瞭, 于众存在的分隔,他认为要建起沟通的桥梁是他的责任,所以唐三藏就做口译了.
Compared with the Great Monk, I like Shi Pantuo (石盘陀) much better. Being hairy and savage, Shi Pantuo was the Prototype of the amazing Monkey King shown in the novel.
但比起唐三藏的伟大与无惧, 我更喜欢石盘陀的低微与问题少年风格.毛耸耸的,似原始未开化的猪头,这个就是《西游记》的齐天大圣孙悟空的原型。
The day he came to Great Monk's side, it doesn't take a genius to see through the pure soul of this Hairy and Savage teenager--The latter wanted to be infected by the Bravery and Virtues of the former known as the Great Monk who knows the way of all flesh and turmoils.
就在石盘陀来到唐三藏身边的那天，旁人也能看清，透过这毛耸耸，未开化的少年的心底梦--石盘陀好想被勇气十二分以及拥有洁玉品德的唐三藏所感化，此高僧可看清红尘路，可解万般愁。
Hence, gangster along the way, close chasing-ups from the Tang Dynasty, conflicts between different cultures, arrangement of trifles in the Great Monk's life, and what not, all these, Shi Pantuo would try his utmost to deal with while the Great Monk would sip a tea, or smoke a roll of cigarette, by one side.
于是，当石盘陀包办了打退行途中的土匪，大唐派来的追兵，国界礼节事务的冲突，以及唐三藏生活料理的琐碎，等等等等，唐三藏会悠悠地坐在一边，呷口茶，吸口烟。
Shi Pantuo would help along when the Great Monk was interpreting to and fro between the Fan and Han languages for the former belonged with the Hu Minority which enabled him to speak Fan.
Master and apprentice seemed to walk on all the way to the West, sharing tears and laughters, misunderstandings and bonding once again, the latter feeling he had been pursuing the right course of his life--When the Great Monk walking through the world curing all folks, all living things and those, though not privileged to move along, but sense and feel against all pains, evils and illness, Shi Pantuo was nothing more than a servant but felt comfortable learning all virtues and trivial yet great deeds from his Master.
当唐三藏作梵汉通译（通译，古文等于现代的口译，日文现在还是用这词做口译的意思），在梵文与汉文间来回转化语言，像打乒乓球那样分秒留神，石盘陀会时而提供帮助，因为他是与生俱来就能讲梵文的胡人。
师徒两人就这样一直地走，途中甘苦自知，生死与共。石盘陀知道这就是属于他一生关荣的使命--唐三藏会历游异地普渡众生，而他自己所做的只不过是一个辅助作用的仆人而已，但他甘心（正如一个男的全心恋爱着他的女孩的时候），在师父身上感染到高尚情操与伟大知行，足够了。

One night, moons in the gloom of the tent inside which the Great Monk was fast asleep, a dark shadow appeared from nowhere holding the shape of a dagger in his right hand, before one could say"the cat catches the mouse", a slash of crimson bolted by, the next second heard the scream of the Great Monk, and blood imbruing Shi Pantuo's hands, neck, face and all over.
月色朦胧，映进唐三藏昏暗的帐篷里，此时唐三藏正在熟睡，突然一黑影掠过，靠到唐三藏跟前，黑影所属者的右手中分明持着一把匕首，说时迟，那时快，一掠红光闪过，接下来便是听到唐三藏的“夺命狂呼”，石盘陀此时的双手，脖子，面部，以及全身，都是血。
"What are you holding a dagger standing in front of me in the middle of the night for?" great fright could be heard from the Great Monk's voice right now.
"Nah...Nothing, I am kind...of ...pondering whether I should kill a lamb for my Master to eat, I ... kind of see my Master is getting thiner and thiner these days." stammered Shi Pantuo.
“半夜三更，你鬼鬼祟祟来到为师的跟前，手里还拿着匕首，你意图为何？”勇气十二分的唐三藏声音中是颤抖着无比的畏惧。
“啊，哈哈哈，没啦，盘陀一直在思觅究竟应否为师父宰只羊来补补营养，这些日子里，盘陀看到师父日渐消瘦。”石盘陀什么时候唱起了吴克群的“大舌头”呢？
嗯，是时候由我福尔伟斯来把犯罪的经过推理一番了！
石盘陀当日并非独自一个来拜见唐僧，与其同往的还有两个胡人。
此三个胡人不是偷鸡摸狗之辈，就是无业流氓。
于是当另外两个发觉从唐僧身上得不到经济利益时，他们离开，这并不100%意味着石盘陀真心投向唐僧。
唐僧当日是不得大唐皇帝的允许而逃出城池的，追兵不断，朝廷还勒令重金悬赏唐僧的人头（即首级），与唐僧为伍的人，杀无赦。
面对着横财的诱惑不由多说，那么一个不值得的杀身之祸试问一个普通人又怎么承受。此为石盘陀拭杀唐僧的一个直接动机。唐僧众口所云的高尚和与他相处所发现的鄙陋的起落，石盘陀迷茫与失望过。
“长贫难顾”，唐僧一切大小事务都由石盘陀料理，个人生活颓废，也一味顾着读诗经，正如为爱（若爱与财富是鱼与熊掌不能兼得）而婚，结婚后每天吃的冷饭烂菜，夫妻的忙碌工作为生计而不能性爱（正若叔本华讲的，爱没有永恒主题讲的那么伟大，只不过性而衍生出来的一种副产品罢了）##此些论调与本人福尔伟斯所站立场无关，本人毕竟是一个清纯与可爱的浪漫小王子来滴
此为石盘陀另一个失落。这是拭杀的另一个间接动机。
胡人生性恶劣，再加上石盘陀讲“梵文”，唐僧讲汉语，“鸡同鸭讲眼碌碌”摩擦与误解不断发生。
夜闯唐僧帐篷，手持利器，石盘陀作为一个懵懂少年正在进行思想上最激烈的一战--血光浮动，石盘陀把不能抑制的杀戮冲动插在小羊羔身体上，石盘陀满身骚味，这与他大鱼大肉与身上常系着鲜肉的缘由。匕首朝向一改，插在羊身上的血溅洒到石盘陀的身体上，石盘陀的心灵里。
杀人动机都是一个闪过的念头，也许当时石盘陀把刀锋插进唐僧的心口，改变历史，石盘陀的内心世界同样是下一秒的宁静。
但这一切的神推鬼磨，使往后日子里师徒的关系更密切。
由于此密室杀人事件处于太远古的历史尘迹里，我福尔伟斯只能通过这点蛛丝马迹来推理当时的犯罪现场，但一定错不了的，因为真相永远只有一个。
Oh, my gosh, what kind of article is this one, first my feelings about my job, then came up with the Great Monk, what followed was my liking for Shi Pantuo, and my admiration melted into crime scene, and ended up a detective story

- this time i read the chinese version of the story, too. you seem to favor the free translation in stead of the literal one, which makes your translation sound more consistent , fluent as well as witty

Why do you put the pictures here?Well, the first picture represents Sherlock Holmes, classics can always take on a new look, just like how Hollywood transforms the contents of "Romeo and Juliet". Things need to be added up with new elements, that's why a girl, a smile,can also represent the detective mind of mine.
And I guess I like to write the same black humor as Dickens did, but again just like this great author, I don't like to use the spooky pictures to reflect my writings, then why not a light one with a lotta sunshine.
This is me. You are special, always seeming to push me to kinda answer you, I seldom know any girl just like you do.

- We all know Shi Pantuo was honor of Great Monk in the 《西游记》, but we never doubt that he also want to kill Great Monk for many reasons. Yeah, maybe Shi Pantuo also don't reconcile to be a servant for such useless man.

In fact, there is no such thing as literal translation, or maybe I am in a hurry writing down the article and translate at the sme time, but hesitation makes one the dwarf of actions, I seldom think much nowadays as I translate.
And when it comes to the norms of interpretation, it is Fast, Fluent, and witty.
