shefdave: Hi, just to follow up Julia's comment - can I suggest maybe a "draft" function where it saves a temporary copy of the blog every minute or s
Hi, shefdave. Thank you very much for ur suggestion and ur great contribution to DioEnglish. The "draft" function would be a perfect solution to solve this problem. I will add it to my To-do List.
But maybe it will take a long time to achieve that.
Cause I established this website in my sparetime, now it is being maintained by a team, but still in our sparetime.
That's why we can only improve it step by step.
But we'll try our best to make it more powerful and stable, hope more and more people can benefit from this platform.
Thanks again for your valuable idea, hope we can upgrade this function in the soonest future;-)

shefdave: The Russell Crowe/Beautiful Mind does have quite a basis in reality for people who do pure maths! (my maths is called 'applied mathematics' - i.e. tak
It’s really good to know that yours is “applied one” that can be very useful! (no offence, to most of us apart from maths genius) I remembered back in high school we always talked about what’s the practical meaning of learning maths, we are never gonna use complicated der Theorem or das Axiom in order to think about the bill to get 1 kilo eggs in the morning market where everyone’s busy with times/money. We were a bit indignant at maths because the basic education in China is solid and strict, and I mean that I do understand your teacher very well here, and I also agree that philosophy is a fun topic to pick up with :)

Growing up in France? You must have done some traveling then. Would love to hear those interesting stories hey! Do you speak the language? Most importantly have you ever thought you were like a chameleon that needed to find its own colour before? (if the last one is too sensitive, no need to answer back :) One of my students here were staying in the U.S. for a year before and then went back to his hometown South Korea stayed a while and now in China for 4 more years, and I think all these experiences have great effects on his personality.

Haha, about the everlasting history, I think it’s just a long one full of stories of good and bad, just like yours, which is also a bit different that we didn’t go for clolonisation given that China itself is big enough, and we can always find new territories within our country. I think that’s also the reason why China’s still ok after the world financial crises, for we’ve advocated domestic demands.. ~ everything has its two faces, we are a large country tho. We were once shut from other cultures, and refusing to let the door open has taught us a big lesson! (like the war in 1840, long story)
One more little thing, which one did you happen to like most among all the Chinese famous tourist sopts? ~

shefdave: (if you have to try hard to learn and write the characters, try to imagine what I have to go through to learn them! haha :D)

I study Chemical Enginee
ahaha.. Maths, talking about it the first thing that came out of my mind was the American Movie Beautiful Mind acted by Russell Crowe :) I used to think the life of those mathematicians would be a bit boring which was proved wrong!~ understand you said when you actually get to practice the skills you learnt from textbooks as Confucius once said : Tell me and I will forget, show me and I may remember, involve me and I will learn :)

Although the Great Britain is not a big country compared to China, there are lots of stories about conquering and freedom which happened before the unification now ~Do you like your history?

no no no no no worries about Chinese characters; you'll get there in the end, and you have so many little free helpers here not to mention that precious one~
catnfish 2009-5-4 16:14
shefdave: Haha long word! The longest word in English depends on how you define 'word' - there are chemicals with very, very long names! (that I encounter all t
hmmmm, yes, it even took me a while to try to read it, let along  the spelling! It reminds me of some really evil Chinese characters (messy+ruleless) that I tried hard to learn and write..~ Despite of those complicated words, you still chose chemistry, what's the most fansinating bit about it?~ btw, what's the station called do you remember?~..:)
