I Enjoy Being Alone, Do You? 2011-6-25
I enjoy being alone, do you? I never feel bored, miserable or sullen but rather relish it fully. It is the only time belongs to my own. I reckon I am an eligible candidate for being a recluse. I can stay at home for a month if having sufficient food and water. Can you?
Friends often complain that I spend too much time alone. Well, I am no interested in shopping or traveling around the city. It is really tiresome; I would rather enjoy myself at home. It seems things can hardly resuscitate my defunct interest in urbanism. People who haven’t enjoyed idyllic life, will never know how enjoyable it is. Maybe I am too infatuated with the pristine nature.
I like going out somewhere have dense trees, verdant lawns, admirable flowers, climbable mountains, natural brooklets… To be embraced by nature just like rejuvenates my vitality. I think the elixir of life is to get close to nature. Ha, it sounds outlandish.
I missed the good old days very much. In the past few years, I liked going out with friends to climb mountains and enjoyed weekend natural adventure. But now, they live far away, we don’t even meet often. We only meet once or twice in a month, neither adventure nor mountain climbing. Our rendezvous might be theater, home or a cozy restaurant. Yes, time is always meteoric when you are with friends. But I still prefer getting close to nature that can really make me truly alive. It’s paradoxical that I like taking adventure, but not like going solely.
I am getting lazier and lazier that I don’t even want to meet with friends if they want to go on shopping spree. Busy is my invariable excuse for turning down.
Last week, a friend invited me to enjoy hot-spring in Chonghua that can alleviate tiredness. Unfortunately, I had engaged in something, otherwise I certainly have a wonderful time with them. What a pity! You know, I like hot-spring at all seasons of the year.
Last night, I got a call from another friend, she inquired whether I have activities this weekend so that she might invite me to spend weekend with her. Unlucky, I have got work to do today. Nevertheless, she wants me to share dinner in her house and go to cinema. Though I enjoy being alone, I do have to spend sometime with good friends. So I decided to have a splendid day with her and another friend tomorrow.

- oh ,my friend, you are so great.with a month only at home? i like being alone sometimes too, but i surely can't stick to for so long time. surely,different people have different character, some like more pubic moment,some like at home,some like stay with friends,ect... i think being alone is surely maybe a enjoying ,leave some self space for ourselves.that 's a sweet taste in life,though some lonely seeing from surface. agree with you,my friend. wish you enjoying your alone weekend.hehehe...
