How About Your Childhood? 2011-6-28

I regarded morning is the best time of the day especially the sunny ones that I would enjoy peace and quiet, the clean atmosphere, the mild zephyr, listen to the chirps of birds and the rustling leaves in the trees, watch the water rush downstream the river, see the cherubic faces from kids and angelic smiles from grannies, the gentle pace of pedestrians and the hustle and bustle of businessmen. Such a brilliant morning will you still feel emotionally drained or mentally exhausted? Absolutely not, you and I would definitely make the most of our brand new day.

There is a nursery school on the ground floor at the reverse side of our building. I usually go out at 07:15, but today, a little bit late at 07:40 so I met many kids and patriarchs on the road. How interesting it was! A little boy was peered at me enigmatically, and then he smirked. Teacher, good morning! His granny was greeting to me merrily and fervently and the boy followed suit. I was astounded and smiled back to them right away. What a pity, I have got no chance to let them know that I am not a teacher, and we went our own ways.

How blissful those kids are! When I was a kid I hadn’t had such privilege. Of course, some of the kids they had. Their parents or grandparents escorted as well as picked up. Anyhow, I went to school with our contemporaries. It’s understandable; my parents were as busy as a bee from morning to night in order to make a good living. Brother and I had accepted the truth uncomplainingly.

I was my Mom’s cooking assistant at 7 years old. I learned a lot from my Mom, so in primary school I did cook a lot for our family. I cannot wait for my Mom to cook for us because she was always as busy as a president. It was very funny experiences indeed. The burnt rice, the charred vegetable, the salty soup and so on. Ha, how funny memory it is!

When I was about 8 years old, my Dad taught us to wash clothes, since then we had to wash it by ourselves. We didn’t have washing machine, and we can hardly washed it cleanly. My Dad said clothes is one of the badges of cleanness. We had no choice but got used to it, otherwise we hadn’t have clean clothes to wear. I have forgotten how many times I had started the work all over again. Poor me! Well, I was a sensible child that I helped my parents to wash the clothes too. Ha!

I liked to share my Mom’s work in the farm very much. I just wanted to reduce her work that she could enjoy more time with us. Fortunately, I was like a little queen who was having many servants. All of them were submissive and liked to do as requested. I was proud of myself who had such magnetism. How sweet memory it is! Now, it is hardly to get together as we are all adults and have our own careers.

How about the kids nowadays? They are blessed and beatific. Regardless of city or country, there is nothing can compare. For sure, I don’t want to make a comparison too, I like my colorful childhood, I cherish my priceless memory, I treasure my unforgettable experiences. These all are my fortunes as well as properties.

wow, I think our childhood are similar to some extent. I learned to cook and wash clothes around 8 years old. In a small villiage, I had a cheerful childhood with my peers. I clearly remembered we often put cattles out to the pasture and played on the meadow.
