When I was walking down the riverside toward to workplace in a balmy morning, I suddenly had a hunch that I may leave something behind. But I couldn’t think of what it was. I was intoxicated by the sunlight thoroughly. The sun was barely waked up that shined on me tenderly. I couldn’t tell how much I love the morning hours.
A light pink handbag is my company as always. There is a book, a notebook and a parasol inside. All at once, I realized that I left the parasol behind, no wondered I didn’t feel the bag as heavy as it once was. I had ever thought to go back to get it or let it be. Anyway, I chose the latter because I knew I could borrow it from my colleague if I go out.
At about 16 pm, it occurred to me that I needed to get the residence permit as my colleague had urged me for sometime. I went out with Xiao Zhou. Before we got out I asked Zhou whether she brought the parasol, unfortunately, she didn’t. So I turned to my colleague, but Zhou dragged me out and saying that “oh, come on, it’s 16 o’clock now, the sun certainly won't burn us down, but we could enjoy a bathe in it”. Though I have ever read an article about the advantages of sunlight and knew it is good for health and a magic treatment for melancholia. I still couldn’t get used to walking under the sun without umbrella except in the early morning and the late afternoon.
When we got out of the mansion, the feeling was just like staying next to a fireplace and the sun was burning us piercingly. What a sweltering August day! We were looking for shadows on the way to our destination. Abruptly, I couldn’t help thinking of the farmers, workers who have to work outdoor, how can they bear such a scorching and burning summer? I shall have no complaint but grateful for what I have now. So I let myself enjoyed getting tan in the sun.
When we reached our destination, a young man served us; he talked gently and smiled sweetly. He listened and answered all our questions patiently. He is our role model in service industries. When we got our residence permit, I asked him how much should we pay, he said “we don’t charge”. We thought he was kidding, but it is true, it said that residents don’t have to pay the residence permit since last month on 25th. How nice!
Learn to be happy about nothing in particular and soon you will have plenty to be happy about.
