Jesus, it’s a mistake! Ms Chen delivered me today’s newspaper jauntily. Look! The holiday for Mid-Autumn is from Sunday to Tuesday. How nice! I was on cloud nine to read the news. Really, you couldn’t imagine how tickled pink I was. I hugged with them as well as high-fives.

“It must be a mistake”, Xiao Yuan uttered. “Why must it be a mistake?” I was anxious to ask her. “Look at the calendar here, September 10th is Saturday but not Sunday, my dear”. She said sorrily. I was dumbfounded by the calendar and my cheerfulness was demolished all at once.

If the holiday is from Sunday to Tuesday, I not only have a terrific time with my family together, but have a day to rest after whole night's celebration. If the holiday is from Saturday to Monday, it's kind of pity. Neither can I celebrate the Mid-Autumn night with my family nor can I sleep late. Because the next day has to go to work.

I love the night of the Mid-Autumn so much. It is the best and most special time for our family reunion. I have no idea how other people spend their night of Mid-Autumn. Anyway, my family spends on the patio. We prepare abundant of food and drinks and we go to the patio after 22:00 o’clock. Firstly, we ignite the incenses to invite the moon fairies, after the incenses burned out we set off firecrackers. I am not sure it is kind of superstition or custom. But we do like this each year. Then Mom repeats the story of the Mid-Autumn for us. We enjoy talking, eating, drinking, and accompanying by the beauty of the full moon. During this time, my parents tell us plenty of stories… Ha! I never fed up with the stories, I love hearing it~~ Then we spend a joyful night together with the moon.

I am missing the good old days so much. When I was a little girl, I liked to make lanterns with kids at this day and we played around the village merrily. How interesting!

The newspaper enlivened me as well as disappointed me. What a mistake they had made!

 

Now, I hope my work won't be too busy during these days so that I may ask for a longer holiday or a miracle may happen on me. Ha~~
