My Three Wishes
One day, while walking on the beach, you come across an old teapot sticking out of the sand. When you pick it up, rub off some sand and pull out the stopper at the end of the spout, a genie suddenly comes out of the end of the teapot. He looks at you so happily and says: "I'm free at last. Thank you for setting me free. As a magic genie I shall reward you with three wishes and once you say them out loud, they will come true."
Your assignment for this essay is simple, talk about what you would wish for and why, then talk about what you think will be the result of your wishes.

My Three Wishes
When I was a child I was fascinated with the story of Aladdin, when he rubbed the lamp and a genie popped out to grant him three wishes. Although Aladdin used three wishes, he used it unwisely. What a supernatural thing, right?
So one day I was having a conversation with a friend and asked him what he would wish for if he had three wishes. Money, a beautiful girlfriend and a sport car were his wishes. Then he turned to ask me what I would wish for and I said, an orchard, a free ticket for traveling around the world and to be a cheerful clown. He smirked and uttered, “Why don’t you wish to be a millionaire? Because people always dream to be rich” “Now, I am wishing for more wishes,” I replied jokily.
As time gone by, I began to reconsider what I would really wish for if I was ever presented with the opportunities. You have to be prepared for everything right? And if a genie ever did pop out of a lamp and offer me three wishes, I wanted to be ready.
My first wish was for world peace. Wars indeed are disasters. It not only ruins our mother nature, destroys our lives, and the most excruciate traumata of losses for human beings. But then I realized it probably couldn’t last because people would revert to fight again for their advantages. So my wish was for 24 hours only. I wanted the world in a state of total peace and full of love so that when the world returns to its previous state after 24 hours, people could have had a taste of harmony and a sense of guilt and they would finally come to realization that what could be achieved if they really work hard.
My second wish was for everyone to be afflicted with conscience. I am so sympathetic for those senior citizens who live a life without the care of their children. Parents are selfless, they have contributed a lot for us, and how can we dump them when they are old? If we don’t want to regret and lament, it is necessary to learn to cherish and grateful for what we have now.
My third wish was for everyone on our planet to have their basic needs: like shelter, food, clothing etc, so that they may struggle for a better living.
I carried those wishes with me for a long time, and ready to present them to my genie when he appears. Luck is what happens when opportunity meets preparedness and I wasn’t going to be caught napping if a genie ever did turn up to me.
As I grew up and became mature, I learned that making wishes that affect the world was not actually my responsibility. I was aware of that my true responsibility was to work on myself. It’s not that I didn’t care about the rest of the world, of course I did. I realized that the only person I had the right to mess with was myself. People need to grow and learn at their own way and for their own reasons. So my three wishes changed again. It took me a long time to think of the three wishes, but it turned out to be very simple once I knew what I really and truly wanted out of my life. Today, these are still my three wishes:
1) To always be a grateful person so that I have no reason to complain about life.
2) To be a diligent bee so that honey is my reward.
3) To be a good role model so that I respect by people.
What I didn’t realize when I made these three wishes is that the genie was inside of me. I have the power to make all my three wishes come true on my own. I stopped looking for the lamp.
