A Narrow Escape

1334 views. 2009-7-28 09:53 |Individual Classification:diary|

Time:Yeaterday morning
Spot:The narrow street in front of my grandparents' house
Accident:My grandparents‘ dog always loves to sleep in the street shaded by a big tree. That has been a perfect place for him to spend his summer days. That morning,he felt reallly good and excited that he streched his four legs freely, occupying a big part of the street. It looked really  comfortale but dangerous as well.He knew that,so did we.However,we were somehow confident in him as well as his quick action and movement cos he could always sleep while on the alert for strangers and danger. And what's more, the street is so narrow that cars are not allowed here. With all these factors taken into consideration we took it for granted that it would be ok for him to sleep there.But...You knew what happened that day.Right.An accident.A electric bicycle passed by very fast and it was a little bit late for him to stand up and evade before he realized that some danger was coming near.Maybe the electric bicycle just went in so quiet a way or he was having such a sweet sweet dream that he failed to move and react as quickly as he used to.After the electric bicycle hit him,he dashed to it with his injured left leg dangling, barking fiercely and trembling. He was so scared that it took me a long time to pacify him by caressing his head mildly.Poor him~Ever since that accident,he barks wildly at every electric bike passing by.And he can still run quickly ,only in a different way, which I think shares much common with  rabbits.
He must have learnt a big lesson from this accident,so have we.

you should take care of this dog since it is always an animal, right?

you really discribe a pitiful, lovely dog. i seem to have seen this pretty fellow, how painful when bumped, how cute when barking at electric bikes.

The dog must have suffered a lot from that. He barks to protect himself. Will he understand the driver didn't want to hurt him on purpose?

I'm not sure about that...But I think that as time goes by,he'll gradually forget that accident and get calm again.

I used to keep puppies when I was young. They were so lovely that I loved them very much. Puppies are smart and have feelings as we human beings do and they are claimed to be the best friends of we human beings. Your grandparents' dog seems to be lovely according to your description. You must really love him. I'm sorry that he is hurt. I hope he will get well soon.
