Losing my purse

734 views. 2012-6-13 09:04 |Individual Classification:my life|

Yesterday morning I went to the town hospital with some of my colleagues for a physical checkup by bus. Nothing seemed unusual until at the end of the checkup when I opened my shoulder bag only to find my purse gone missing. I recalled the whole morning happenings: I checked my purse before getting on the bus. There was a traffic jam during the trip. Then I got checkup done one by one. Not a slightest idea could I get for the losing of the purse. When and how?

When someone says he/she lost his/her wallet/purse, I always felt it’s something far far away from me. Could such a stupid mindless thing ever happen to me? Then it happened. Some people, including me, are just too stubborn to let some idea sink in.

What was in the purse? Well, around 200 yuan cash, a bank card( had been reported immediately after I found the loss), some loyalty cards.since there are not that important, just forget about these cards. I felt relieved when I found nothing very important lost. I took the ID card out that morning. I prepared to visit a colleague who has just had an operation . I was thinking whether to put that sum of money in the purse then I decided to take that out too. Maybe I’ve felt something bad might happen. So with the little loss, I was quite lucky in this sense, right?  Besides, it might be a blessing in disguise. Who knows, eh?

Judging from your description, I think you lost your purse while you were waiting for your turn. This happens often in hospitals when people are sitting and waiting. The thief sitting or standing behind you would have lots of chances. Those thieves watch you the mement you enter the hospital and when you make payments, you are in fact telling them where your purse is. Anyway, you are fortunate that you did not lose your ID card because if you replace a lost ID card, there would be a code letter "L" in your ID card. You have learnt your lesson, so be careful in future.

You mean it is hard to get a new ID card? I just keep my ID card and several credit cards in the wallet. I can't imagine what disaster it would be if it somehow got lost. The question is where we should place all thsee things? we have to carry them along.

Most people think that when you lost a ID Card, just apply for a new one, but they don't know consequences of stolen identity.

It is easy to replace a lost ID card, but there would be a code "L" in your new ID card to show
that the previous ID card has been lost. This is to avoid a citizen holding two ID Cards.

The disadvantages of losing replacing a lost ID card are;
* Your ID card could be sold to someone who looks similar to you.
* Thieves could use your lost ID Card and open accounts and use the new account to cheat people.
* They could use your lost ID card to borrow money and if they can't repay,
your name and ID card would be listed as a defaulter.
* They could use your lost ID card to commit crimes and your name/ID-Number would be listed as a criminal. You would have a terrible time explaining that it is not you and clear your name
* There are many other problems that can come with a stolen ID.
* The government computers will show ID Card No. 12345678 was reported lost and you could be questioned if you are the real owner.
* When you apply for anything through the government, your ID card will show a flag and the application could be delayed or questioned.
* Your trouble will only end partially when the government cancel all old ID Cards and issue new format ID Cards.

Don't take your original ID out unless it is necessary. Keep a color copy of your ID card in your wallet.

Thank you very much indeed. I really learned something. I have been carrying my ID card in my wallet without realizing the potential dangers. I'll take it out and replace it with a photocopy. Nowadays it seems that we have to take lots of cards with us and have to remember lots of secret codes. modern technology brings us much convenience, but new trouble as well.
