The Thursday meeting

We have a regular multimedia videomeeting every Thursday night, the objective of it is to give more informationon the works we all have done and we are expecting to do.  The publication of staff’s workload and the rate of fulfillment of some important assessment indexs is more like a introductory remarks at the beginning.  But we all value highly of the number, because nowdays everybody’s month salary is proportional to the amount of the works he or she has done. This is a progress, in thepast,  whoever did the most works received as much as the laziest’s.  nowthe big-pot systerm is gone,  you earn salary by yourself,   there is no special treatment,  no identity difference,  so a worker who has not converted his status  of temporary staff to a regular staff can even earn much more than someone holding higher academic qualification. Sometimes when our manager is in a good mood,   or when he is very mad at  something or somebody, he does talk a lot, and then we will be keptfor a long time in the room,  people want the meeting to end quickly, but the manager would say a lot and jump from unconnected idea to another idea.  However,no matter how much he talked, many guys still play their mobile-phones asusual.  I personally feel it's not cool to arrange the meeting at night, moring is better, we remember things clearly in the moring,  we feel tired and dehydrated after one's days work.

Actually such meetings are not productive, therefore, in recent management strategies, they don't involve staff in these time consuming meetings. Progressive staff can be identified by other means of assessment. Staff personality, attachment, loyalty, responsibility, reliability and length of service are considerations.

The major expenses of a company is salary expenditure, so most companies are trying to reduce costs by saving on salaries. This matter is controversial and may backfire so the consequences are being observed.

It is strange that some leaders like to arrange meetings at night. I myself don't think it is reasonable.
