巨石上的....帕崩岗

In the lhasa, there are several prestigious  Buddhism  monasteries,  pilgrims come in stream Everyday,  And inside and outside these famous monasteries are crowds of worshipers, They  either turn the prayer wheels, prostrate themselves in prayer or bow to Buddhist statues. Everyday is like this. But not all of the monasteries have endless stream of pilgrims and visitors all the time,  some small one enjoying less prestige are somewhat quiet.

Yesterday we specially went on apilgrimage to a small monastery which is in the north of the city,  it's built on the mountainside, and this timeit didn’t take us trouble to get there, I was told that there wasn’t a modern road available many years ago to let cars run,  only cross-country type of cars could run on the steep mountain road, in recent years,  the government  has invested  well on the protection of the old monasteries,   roads were built,  which made it possible for people to drive to the monasteries mostly built on the mountainside.

the name of the monastery is “PorongKang”,  it has hundred years of history,  the king of Tibet SongZanGanbu lived here once in a while,    it is said that the king sent a man namedTunMiZanBuZha hundred years ago to India to learn to create Tibetan written language,  Tibetan people didn't have written language before, only had spoken language, and the king found it was necessary to create it.  After TunMiZanBuZha came back from india,he was sent by the king to the place which is now where the PorongKang monastery is to concentrate on the creation of the written language,  years later, he overcame innumerable hardships and difficulties, and he made it. And ever since then,  Tibet area had unified written language,   So,  this man, TunMIZanBuZha, is remembered by people,  he made great contribution, now his statue can be seen in some monasteries and museums,  TunMi is now called as linguist, educationist and translation theorist.

Standing on the roof of the monastery, we could see clearly the whole portrait of the city, the landscape is very good,   and under the brilliant background of the monastery, flowers, trees and birds look even more terrific.  it 's really a good option for us to go on a pilgrimage on a holiday, because when you are in monastery, you feel what we are fighting for in the socienty may not be most important.

Thanks for such interesting information from your personal visits. I have saved your article for my future visit to Tibet. Hope I can see the monasteries that you have seen because it has such rich history. The photos are so amazing and thanks for taking the trouble to post them here for us to see.

Every place has it's own customs and religion. Religious fanaticism may appear unreasonable and strange to us, but everyone has his own freedom in beliefs, so we should let them handle it and it takes time to change. The muslim religion in the Iran and middle east is so firm and hard to change, but yet, people are gradually dropping those customs of requiring women to cover up themselves completely. They are also beginning to realise that their archaic beliefs and religion are getting them nowhere.
