Seasons in Life

767 views. 2012-5-31 20:46 |

I guess I have never been able to get over the pain and  the inferior feeling caused by the failure of my first college entrance exam and the following experience of being a 13th grader. "Come on! What a big deal!” you may respond. But to the "me" aged 19 seven years ago, it really hurt and it does have kept casting shadow to the subsequent events in my life ever since, including the campus and occupation life. However, only when looking backwards, do I sense it. In fact, I find it shouldn't have been like that at all after being inspired by a story read today. And I hope it's still not too late to mend the sheepfold. If you find it of the slightest use for yourself, I would be flattered and of great pleasure.

An man wanted his four sons to learn not to decide things too quickly. Thus, he sent them in turn to look at a peach tree in different seasons and tell him what they saw respectively. The first son considered the tree as ugly, bent, and weak in winter. The second son saw its green buds and promise in spring, the third saw many flowers and even smelt the sweet smell in summer and the last son saw the pears and the tree full of life and fulfillment. All of them disagree with one another about what they saw. The father told them that all of them were all right, because they each had seen but only one season in the tree's life. People cannot judge a person or a tree, by only one season and the meaning of them-- the pleasure, the joy and the love that come from the life--can only be measured at the end, when all the seasons are up.

Life comes in a package. This package includes happiness and sorrow, success and failure, hope and despair. It is a process of learning. All kinds of experiences in life, no matter good or bad, teach us lessons and make us a better person. Don't rush to label ourselves as superior or inferior in a hurry. Like the four seasons in the natural world, life is filled with ups and downs, too. "If we give up when it is winter, we will miss the promise of our spring, the beauty of our summer, the harvest of our fall. Don't let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the rest."

Oh, I am sorry to hear that.
You have to move on.  dwelling on the past only is a waste of time.  by doing this, you might subject to another failure.. miss out on a lot of good things.
just enjoy study and enjoy your life...
just do you know why you fail? becaue you didn't take it seriously? or because you are too nervous? don't push yourself too hard..  a few years from now when you look back, it really is no big deal.  compared with the workloads in your career and the pressure that comes with it, your campus goals might be too easy a thing to accomplish.. since you don't have to deal with all the predictable and unpredictable things... you are free from the complicated relation between people... you just keep your focus on your goals..you put into action..  but at work, it is totally different.. you might not feeling like yourself the way you behave..the way you talk...the way your respond...

It would be much easier if I were in college than at work...

in light of getting a good job, your scores on campus doesn't count every thing.  you should always bear in mind that there are a lot of layers to get a decent job, and far more in a promotion.

life isn't all about scores..   I think you need to channel your energy to different things to improve yourself in an all-round way and be prepared for the future...

but if you are not concerend with the post-graduation mission, then you do not have to take into account what I just said..

Have a good day.

Thanks a lot for your comforting. In fact, I have already been at work for two years. It's exactly true that the occupational life and pressure isn't easy to cope with. However, we have to move on. Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forwards. Thanks and the same good luck and happiness to you!

Thanks for your kindness.  I've been already over the failure for long. Sometimes it's just not so easy to get out of the shadow over the mind as to get over the failure itself. I know that life is not easy for most of us, and little of the hardness can we confide in others. However, all of us are trying to be strong.
