Some Experiences

371 views. 2009-4-27 14:09

Hoho, time flies, actually, I haven’t written any articles for really a long period, more than one month, a little bit incredible, so I think I couldn’t be a lazy bone any more, I need to change myself from the piggy life now.

Because I have passed ielts test and got what I want, so I don’t have any burdens and stresses now, so I became a lazy bone these days, in the morning, I got up around 11 and then had my “breakfast” around 1 pm, and then 8 for supper, that’s not bad, for me, just want to try some carefree life instead the tedious one before, because just one month ago, my life is a torture for me, I had to get up around 6 in the early morning and hit the sack at around 12 in the midnight due to the English learning.

Okay, so I think I could write some English learning tips here for you who are interested in English study to improve and boost your English level, hope these experiences are helpful to you.

I think what I did all is to recite words, actually, I spent almost all day each day for English words reciting, to some people, they think that task is really tough, because to recite words is really tedious and boring, however, no matter how tedious and boring you think reciting words, you have no choice but to recite them, otherwise it’s hard for you in both reading and listening parts of every test. So I put forward some of my experience of words reciting here.

I bought a pamphlet of words of cet firstly, and there are approximately 8000 words in it, and I started to recite from A to Z, there is no shortcut in my English learning, to be honest, I chose to find a shortcut as well when I started to recite, but it’s really hard to find in the first place in that you lack vocabulary first, after reciting words for a period, there are some good approaches for you.

On one hand, you could put some words with the same or familiar meaning together during your reciting, such as ascertain, assent, accede, approval, confirm, attest, you could allocate them in one batch to recite or go over them, it’s more effective. Another example: adversary, antagonist, rival, opponent and so forth.

On the other hand, you could put some words with the familiar appearance together while you recite them, such as stack stake, and pillar polar, and astray stray tray and so forth, that’s also a good way of remembering words, more efficient, and there are also an approach called “plus and subtraction”, such as “ant” and “arctic” is “antarctic” and “ten” and “ant” is “tenant”.

These 2 approaches are what I used to recite words, and it words on me, maybe that also works on you, frankly, everyone has his or her own methodologies of English learning, especially on words reciting, so come on!

Don’t feel that is tedious, actually, it is important and imperative, pay more attention on words, and in my mind, that is the really shortcut of English learning, you don’t need to pay more attention on English boring grammar, just accumulate and amass some words together, and foreigners also could understand you.
