I heard from people around that “I failed again” and I always ask myself “what is the failure” and “the definition of failure”. In my mind, there is no absolute failure in this world. Why? The reason is that there is a truth that when you lost something you gain something at the same time. Even if you experienced a completely frustration, there are still a great many of things that you obtained: first, the unique experiences with a more strong heart to confront with the uncertain future. The objective failure may be a subjective success in some cases.

The majority of people support the argument of objective. We cannot say that they are completely disagree with people that hold the belief of subjective, and they just think about the results are more important than the experiences. It’s not wrong, but I think it’s unfair to judge others’ success or failures objectively. On the other hand, results should not be overlooked. Therefore, it makes sense to support the argument of objective particularly under nowaday’s high pace working environment.

However, are results really important? The answer is “There is not an absolute answer”. People who support the argument of subjective always have a close look of the process and the result. For example, scientists failed a lot of times in order to make a new medicine, and because of the experiences of the numerical failures that they invent the brand-new medicine to save thousands of hundreds of lives. It’s easy to figure out the winner and the loser from the result of the football match. The endeavors of football team members are neglected if only the results are being taken concerned about. There is no loser if we consider that that the team members never gave up through the whole match.

Nowadays, we are living in a world with moderately high working pace, and thus people become more and more rational – they change to concern more about the result rather than the process. This is not a wrong thing. However, I cannot recognize those who always treat others success or failure objectively. Because of this kind of approach being used to appraise others works, an increasing number of people tend to be mad and pressure.

Therefore, even if all the people around you judge your works objectively, you should deeply analyze yourself and you will understand what your failure is and what your success is shortly.
