A beautiful movie directed by James Lvory (UK) set in Shanghai at the time of the Sion-Japanese war.
This is a love story about the relationship between Russian refugee and American.
The woman was a countess from a "high" Russian family who had to flee from the Russian revolution(1920).She had to support her family by working as a dancer in bars and dance halls.
The man was a famous American diplomat and once had suffered a terrible explosion losing his sight and his daughter.
The love between them is hard but touching.
