【HELP】I don't know how to handle these...

I'm a college student and a freshman.
Life in my college is a little boring.
I'm not a very active girl.
I didn't join the Student Union cause I thought
students who joined it were falsus.
You know, there isn't a fixed classroom for
students to study in college.
So I don't always meet my classmates except when we have class.
Everyone in my class is unemotionality.
We even don't say hello to each other when we meet in the street.
So I don't have many friends here.
I live in a Quad.
There are three people in my room altogther.
Those two girls are my best friends now.
But, I also have a big problem.
One of these two is so negative that she never smiles.
We just call her "R" here.
I'm less and less likely to want to talk with R.
R makes me unhappy because she always says something passive and doesn't like to communicate with others.
For example R doesn't like people who studies hard and always speaks ill of them.
That makes me and another girl confused.
When we wanna go to study lounge to study, we don't dare to tell her the truth.
Because she will feel that we wanna leave her alone.
R never studies hard, but she knows that she has to, otherwise,she will fail the exams.
However, she daydreams everyday and never does it.
Another example, she has no sense of time.
Whatever we do, she is the last one to come.
She is always late for classes and class meetings.
She skips classes a lot.
I don't like those, but I have nothing to say.
I feel so tired to live with her.
I don't want to considerate her feelings all the time when I do anything.
But I don't wanna lose our friendship~
So tired... So...
What can I do?

I entered the Student Union by chance for the Minister of the Organization detected my brilliant English and asked me to join, and so I thought why not, and have stayed there for almost three years.
I went to casual classroom to have my lessons too
Well, I don't need to go on, I guess everyone's experiece in college is more or less the same.
In my freshman year I met a negative guy also, but he has stayed my friend up till now.
He talked negative and also thought the same way, I know this is what made him as he lived in the kinda life where he was not cared by his parents.
But we seldom argued or fought
I know you will not pluck up your courage to talk with this girl, that's ok, cos we hold secrets deep within.
Just do things the way you used to do
Do things you feel that makes sense.
Your R friend can also feel and reason,
In living with you, and experiencing the things you do,
She knows what you mean
She can be a great enemy
I don't know
cos I never met her personally
In this case, be careful
She also can be a great friend passionate
IN this case
Treasure her
cos when all else fails
She will be the one lending you the helping hand

Your advice is so helpful.
I do not want to lose a friend but to make an enemy.
I will try to communicate with her.
But I won't try to change her.
Cos I tried to do it once,but I failed.
She is not a bad girl.
I know she is kind,though her character is not so good.
So I will treasure her.

- Maybe next time you go to study with another girl in your room, you can invite the R girl too. It's up to her whether she accepts it or not, but your initiative shows your willingness to be her friend. She can at least receive your kind message if she fails to respond to it positively at once.
