A story about courage (Fiction)

612 views. 2009-11-6 07:13 |Individual Classification:Fairytale|

Once upon a time, there was a little quiet girl. She was pretty and smart and cherished by her mother. If she were not so sensitive, if she were not born with a withdrawn nature, and if her parents were not so unhappy to be together and left her a miserable childhood, perhaps she could grow up to be a confidant happy woman and everything would be quiet different. But life allows no ifs.

Dated back to a night many years ago when she was inexperienced but brave, there was a terrible fight between her parents. She still remembered quite clearly now her father's face when he shouted to them: Get out! Get out of my house and life!" That face was so horrible and grim that could make a strong man shiver. But she didn't shiver at all. where she took the courage to stay clam was still a mystery. She just quietly stood up and helped her mother packing. She was even able to remember to leave the house keys to her father when she left. So at that midnight, she walked behind her mother out of the house where she lived for 14 years. She didn't know where to go, or what would be waiting for her. A shabby bicycle, a pack of clothes and old stuff were all they got. She was old enough to understand that the life could not be the same after that. Strangely, she wasn't terrified though the future was so uncertain and unpredictable.

Many years had passed by. She was grown up, still pretty but helplessly shy. She swore to herself she would never take her mother's road. Once she got married, she would happily settle down with the man she loved forever. In this society, with relationships fluid so quickly, such idea was almost a disaster. It's said the less you expected from marriage, the more likely you would be happy. Unfortunately, though coming from a broken family, she had expected high from her own marriage life. So she crashed when she discovered that her husband had an affair with someone else. Though her husband finally decided to cut off with that girl and came back to her. She didn't feel the same any more. She changed. She locked her heart and refused to place her trust again. She became cynical and bitter and often burst out words hurtful before realizing it. She knew what she was doing would push herself into a more miserable situation. But everything seemed to be out of control, her marriage, her life and herself. It was a cold night. She was standing at a She raised her eyes towards the dark blue sky, where stars struggling to show themselves out of the thick cloud. It was exactly like the night many years before. She suddenly realized the worst thing is not her husband's affair, it's the fact she had lost her courage. She dared not to move on with her life. The hurt was so penetrating that struck deeply into her heart, like a sharp arrow. She was terrified, and dared not face that pain, which made things worse. Without courage, she totally lost herself in self-pity and bitterness. She stayed where she was: a painful and frustrating place, and dared not to walk away. Her old self: the figure of a 14-years-old girl stumbling on the dark street with no fear appeared like a dream before her. Tears rushed out. She looked toward the sky: tomorrow will be another day

Very miserable, however we have the right to change our mind, different attitude makes us have a different life.

Childhood distress becomes the root course of her miserable adult life. Fortunately, she wakes up from that and is determined to change.

Sometimes we have to endure the painful, miserable things which we can't sure we can. But we can finally overcome it on our courage, optimistic, then find and enjoy the sunshine in our life.

I feel quite sympathetic for the story. Once she gains courage to confront life over again. Surely, she will have a brilliant life as if she has never had.

yes, it's all about attitude. happiness is a trick game, all depends on what our decision is---to spend a day in self-pity and miserable or to spend a day fighting like hell to get what we want

we can't deny that we are shaped one way or other by some incidents happened to us in our childhood. but at least we can adjust ourselves better to the things around us when we grow up.
