Violin in Heaven Chapter 2: Met Muse Alive

Perhaps for the others, star music elementary school is a gray place. But for me, it is a paradise where music is everywhere. Now, laying in the desperate darkness, my unfolded memory took me back to Star again. I saw the serious looks on the kids while they are playing the instrument; I heard the wonderful lyric that floated the whole place, and I even smelled the scent of geranium mixed with humid air just like the first day my master and I boarded there. It was a wonderful afternoon, full of flowers and sunshine. But the sun didn't light Lily's (I finally figure out my little master's name: Lily) mood. She was so fidget as if she was walking her nervous steps into some unknown destination. And when she and I finally entered into the classroom, a most beautiful girl I've never seen before held all my attentions. She was sitting next to the window, along. Even at the first sight, I was totally awed by her glorious beauty that marked with elegance and grace. An aura of sanctity pervaded her whole body. That aura, as far as my knowledge reached, only belonged to the most gifted person. That girl was Muse alive! The glamour that she owned suck all the air out of the small room and made the others faded into the invisible background.
" Silence and order!" Miss Liu's crack voice penetrated my reverie. I suddenly realized that Lily's presence stirred the class a little, and for some reason it was not in a good way. While I was wondering why, I heard Miss Liu's voice again, this time it's in a gentle way: " Lily, seat yourself at the front line, next to May." The first line? Is it the place where my goddess sitting? Oh, god, how lucky we were! My heart beat violently while Lily came towards May, the most beautiful girl I've never seen. Lily stopped at her seat and raised her head up. All at once I realized that Lily was dropping her head ever since we walked into room, she didn't lay her eyes on May yet, if she did, she must feel excited just as I did.
" Ah!" Lily cried out. She stiffened as though frozen, staring at May. It's not "Ah" in excitement as I expected, it is an "Ah" came from a person who saw something dreadful. How could she do this to a real genius? I was completely terrified by my master's profanity. Lily flushed as she realized her rudeness, and murmured something like sorry. May shrugged as if she was used to such things.
"Monster, I told you mask your face well. You scared our new classmate." An arrogant boy said behind and followed by a trail of laughers. I was shocked. What had happened to the people around here? Were they blind? How dare to call a Muse as monster?
"Jeff, is that you?" all of a sudden I heard a familiar voice spoken in violin language.
I looked around, and then, after so many years. I saw my sister Annie again. I could hardly believe it, but here she was, just as the same as I remembered.
"What a miracle, Annie. where have you been all these years? I asked.
"A couple of places. I'd been transferred to several masters until I found May." She drew a long, soft breath as she said.
I was glad that there was someone who could answer my puzzles. " What's wrong with these people? Why they treat your master in this way? It's blasphemy." I said indignantly.
"How long have you entered the human's world?" without answering my questions directly, Annie asked surprisingly.
" Just a few days, so what?"
" I see, you have not much understanding of Human's world yet. What they have seen are totally different with us. In their eyes, May is misfortunately….ugly. See those scars on her face, which made her appearance totally twisted. That's all they can see."
" But the aura…."
" They have no idea about it." Annie broke in.
I signed frustratedly. There was a moment I was lost at words. But soon I went on: " Ok, Even their eyes linger only on the surface and can not reach the inside, but gift is something you can not hide. May is cut for music. She even breathes music. And this place is a music school; at least these people should show their respects toward May once they discovered how talented she is. Are their minds blind too?"
" There are some rules in human's world. One day you will understand." It seemed that Annie did not want to continue this subject, so she asked: " Why I could not see music in your master?"
" She's fresh yet." I answered without much interesting.
" Too bad. That rings trouble." Something serious and disturbed in Annie's voice drew up my attention.
" What's wrong?"
" Star is music charity school. That means what the money charged by the family is not enough for the education and boarding here. And the deficiency is supplied by the subscribers. In order to raise more money, the students are sent to attend to all kinds of performances. So the students here are required to show their gifts in music. How could Lily enroll in without it?"
" Her mother is Miss Liu's best friend."
" Backdoor… that makes things even worse." Annie said and gave a worried look at Lily.
" Why?" I asked urgently.
Annie didn't answer my question, she signed: " Wait and see, the days for your master here will be very tough."
