Spring Festival was supposed to be a Family Get-together, but for you it was more like a Farewell party. From this day, you would leave your Granny’s home and move to live with us. No more Friday’s pick-up, and this would be a permanent arrangement. Your dearest granny would also live with us, but your grandpa and your inseparable twin, brother Zuo-- could not always be around in the future.

Granny prepared us a glorious dinner that night. Unaware of impending dramatic change, you were so excited. The people you love, the people your security was centered around---your granny, grandpa, your brother zuo, your uncle, auntie, your mum and dad--all gathered together around you. You just couldn’t feel safer and happier. In this minute, you got involved a fight with brother zuo, all screaming and crying, but in another minute, you two giggled, chasing each other.

Until we left, you had no idea that since now such union would be a blessing, which could only happen at some important days.

You were too young to understand what "missing someone" really means, however, in the sixth day, you suddenly blurted out that you want grandpa. When you were told that Grandpa was at home to take care of brother Zuo, your brows drew together into a tiny knot and you said with finality in a voice that all a too-year old boy could manage: “No, he is not."---as if with the determination you gathered you could change the reality! At that moment, my heart went out for you, my dear. I felt guilt as if I was somehow responsible for what had happened. In a few days later you would face up another great challenge--- the life of kindergarten. As your mother, I must not only help you adapt to your new home, but also prepare you well for the first turning point of your life. The thought made my stomach clench. If I let myself think too much about it, I might have drown in panic.

But you are stronger than I thought. In the first few days, you struggled a lot. You tried everything you could to avoid going to kindergarten. You screamed, you implored, you shut me out, you found a place to hide, and you even refused to eat. However, once you realized that all your efforts went into vain, you finally behaved yourself. You even started to make friends now.

Dear, I am so proud of you. Life always presents itself in an unexpected way. Someone said that only change itself never changes. We can’t do anything about it, but we can always do something about our own. Therefore don’t be afraid of the changes, blessing ones or unfortunate ones, brace for them, hug them and adapt to them. Life is nothing but a journey. We can sit and cry for our loss, or we can pack up and move on with our life.
