Day 4: End with a Dream

-----This is a Diary I wrote for my son--a three year old little boy. As the words flowed through my fingertips, I imagined one day when he's grown up enough to read this, he would catch a climpse of those happy fleeting moments and smile.

Our visit to Luoji Mountain was supposed to be highlight of this trip. However if you asked me to describe this visit, Blurring was the only word which came into my head.

From the beginning, it was a blur because of the raining---the rain didn’t bother me much, because I like playing with the umbrella, consequently I don’t hate raining as long as I don’t get my shoes wet. Damp is acceptable, but definitely not wet. Since the rain was not that heavy, I was totally Ok. We headed to Luoji Mountain by bus and there was not much to tell about.

However it got bad when we finally arrived there. Mummy immediately wrapped me tightly in layer upon layer of clothing. I hated to be wrapped up like a silly rice dumpling, so I stomped. “Be good, it would be freezing on the mountain.” Mummy insisted. Life has taught me in a hard way that once mummy decided, then no amount of crying, badgering or fussing could change her mind. So after a while I just saved my breath. There were so many people! We lined up, waited and waited. Soon we decided to play Rock Paper Scissors to kill the time. To be honest, I was not very clear about the concept. I know how to throw, but I don’t know how to win or who was the winner. Rock smothered by Paper, Paper cut to shreds by Scissors, and Scissors crushed by Rock---just too complicated for a three year old, don’t you think? Luckily mummy was there to tip me off; therefore I knew when to run for my life, and when to go and attack.

It was not until noon that we finally jumped into a cable car. Really amazing, I even found a flock of sheep down below---and that was my last memory about Luoji Mountain. I didn’t know how could that happen, but obviously I felt into a deep and fast sleep. Odd, considering the fact that I was so excited. What happened next was totally a blank to me. I didn’t remember when we got off the cable car, and I didn’t know how mummy and daddy had tried to wake me up: they called my name, they shook my shoulders, they tried everything they could conjure up, but I still slept like a log! Finally mummy started to worry; she feared that I might have suffered a disease called altitude stress. So when everyone else set out to explore the mountain, mummy and daddy took another cable to go down the hill. Forty minutes later, when we got off the cable car, I finally woke up.

“Little trouble,” Mummy’s finger pointed directly to my forehead: “Thanks to you, we just spent 600 yuan for two round cable tickets!” Ok, guilt as charged. After a quick peek, I decided that mummy was not really mad and I was totally safe.
Wrapped up like a rice dumpling

The most amazing thing about this trip now came to think of it, I decided it was the fact that I’ve made friends with Fanfan Jie Jie, Haihai Ge Ge and Doudou Mei Mei. Just like they said, friendship flourished during traveling. I usually love playing with the kids elder than me, but the problem is that they often gave me a cold shoulder. However Fanfan Jie Jie and Hai hai Ge Ge are different, especially Fanfan Jie Jie, she took care of me, taught me to play games and treated me like a kid instead of a baby. She is 11 year old--- almost a grown-up, so it is really amazing.
  US---the wonder four

When we finally came back home, I realized that something was terribly wrong. I could not find Fanfan Jie Jie, Haihai Ge Ge and Doudou Mei Mei around, so they must have gone lost at the train station. I reported Mummy about their missing, but mummy told me that they just went back to their home. I missed them already and an idea sprang into my mind. I asked mummy to write down their names on a paper, and I said:” When I call your name, say Here!” It’s a game we had played before. But no body answered me this time, only mummy eyed me with a half amused look. I knew it was a lame shot but it was worth a try----in a world full of wonders, you never know what to expect.

 End with a good dream

very interesting. it's not that easy to put feet in a child's shoes. phoebe, you must be very imaginative. btw, how to put "a lame shot "into chinese?

sometimes it's fun to let my imagination get carrried away. besides it's not difficult for me, my son did teach me a lot to view this world with different eyes. Lame shot means an attempt which was not likely to succeed.
