Mr. Mystery

Shadowfever was released.

Finally! I've been waiting for this book for almost ages. The closure, the final anwers to all those questions. I haven't started to read it yet but from reviews in amazon, i knew it would not be a disappointment. And I just can't wait to share with you here. I strongly suggest you to read the other four before you start this one. If you like time traveling, suspense, romance and magic, faesries would be just your cup of tea.

For me, Jericho Barrons, Mr. Mystery in Faeseries, is one of the major reasons tempted me to read this far. Who is Jericho Barrons? Or more precisely, what is he? And after reading thousands pages of this story, I still can’t answer the most basic reason about Jericho Barrons. A human? Not likely. He has lived for at least several hundred years, and no human could go through what he had been through. A Seelie? Probably not. He despised V’lane, a seelie prince, as despised could go and he owns one of unseelie’s sacred objects---on theory, a seelie can’t touch any unseelie object, and vice verse, which made him impossible to be an unseelie. At the end of Dreamfever, we know that he was Mac’s IYD, and he is dying. Not directly mentioned in the book, but whatelse could be?

“Now I’d lost everything.” That’s the last words in Dreamfever, and only one reason could make Mac say that. If Barrons lived, Mac would still have a home, a shoulder to count on, or a wave to ride it out---so as she phrased. If Barrons lived, Mac still had everything to lose.

But still not answer to the very first question: what is Barron? How could Barron, something almost invincible ended up with a Beast who knew nothing but killing everything in Mac’s vicinity?  And I would love to find answers in Shadowfever.

not odd, just a little complicated. there are many words created by the author, if you have never red this story, it is certainly hard to understand.
best wishes and happy new year

"Shadowfever, Dreamfever, Seelie, unSeelie" words like these make me dizzy at 1st. After reading your description, i figure out the 1st 2 must be some places, and the latter 2 about 2 races, yes? Phoebe, you really  read a lot. I wonder how you find time to read? & Good night!

It’s English version. The reason why I’ve always read English novels is actually unmentionable. Honestly, I prefer casual, light reading to serious and classic one, like romance, suspense and detective stories. If I read a romance in Chinese, the others, especially my husband, might tease: “How old are you?” however, if it’s an English version, everyone would ignore the content and look at me in awe. You see, nothing noble about that. As for my writing skills are improved a lot accordingly, it is actually an additional bonus.

Forgave me, it’s really my fault. I was so sucked in this story that I forgot those words could be very confusing if you never read any of this series. There are five books in this series: Book 1: Darkfever; Book 2: Bloodfever; Book 3: Faefever; Book 4: Dreamfever and recently released: Book 5: Shadowfever. And you are right, Seelie and Unseelie refers two different races. Fae ( similar to fairy, or god) are divided into two courts: Seelie and Unseelie. No good or right about each of them. According to the heroine Mac: The only good Fae is a dead Fae. In this story, the walls between Man and Faery came down, and the world had become a total mess. When the story begins, Mac is just a normal Georgia girl, young, attractive, and a little spoiled. She came to Dublin to investigate her sister’s murder and only to discover the world is not it was supposed to be. Everything has its hidden layers. It is all about seeing the truths beneath the illusions and figuring out how to survive.

I see, finally I got the secret of your way of studying English. :) It is being told that Mr. Qian Zhoushu liked the detective fiction novels so much that he had read every book he could get hold of in the library. Without love, there will be no real achievement. Just my curiosity, where did you get the book from?
