We’ve moved to our new house for more than one week. Not surprisingly, I am the one who fit in most in my family. As I breathed in the smell of morning sunlight and honeysuckle, I realized the reason why I, of all people, have adapted the best. Because being here feel right. I love the buildings, the way the trees sheltered the garden, the privacy, I love knowing that it only takes 10 minutes to my office, which means that every day I will have three extra hours as bonus and no more fighting with the traffic.

Most of all, I love my new house. I’d poured my heart into furnishing here and now everything is shining proudly to make every effort of mine paid.

The study is an oasis of calm in my noisy household and it is also my favorite. A big bookcase screens off most part of the wall, and it is the only furniture in my house that exceeds the budget. Still it is quite a bargain. The seller was clearing stocks before close down his business, so I got it by 40% discount. I once planed to move my old bookcase here, but as soon as  I laid my eyes on this one, I couldn’t tear my eyes off. It fulfills my every fantasy about the study I could possibly own. Yeah, bookworm ---that’s me. My auntie had her own study when I was a little girl. I still remembered I used to walk half an hour to her home and bury myself in lots, lots of books. And now I finally have one. Talking about dream to come true!

Drawing-room is connected to the dining room. It takes us a while to find affordable furniture that in key with the basic tone of the house decoration. American style furniture is extraordinary expensive, however, we found a furniture factory to get everything down, which saved us a lot.

Online shopping helps us a lot to balance the budget. We bought almost all the electrical appliances online. Usually some old models of famous brands are sold online at much lower prices. Electrical appliances are not like clothes which have heavy outdated issue. Therefore no need to pay a lot more for the latest model which just have several extra features we could hardly use. As electrical appliances concerned, we only need the most basics. Old models at attractive prices are just perfect.

However, mum has a hard time adjusting. Unlike our former home, everything—supermarkets, stores, any size of restaurants---is within the walking distance. Here there are only a few stores nearby. You can find the basics, but they don’t carry a wide selection. Unlike me, who doing most shopping online, she feels kind of trapped here. I’m trying my best to help. To download her favorite TV dramas, to have lunch with here as long as I am not busy. It’s not enough. But home is where the heart is. With four months, we turned a brick-and-mortar box into a live-in heaven. I’m sure things would get better in the future.
