“Thanks for your impatience. I feel so much better now.” K’s text made me a bit wanna cry.  I knew she sent this just to make me feel better. For the past two hours, she talked, and I just sat there, listened. I wanted to say something comfort, but no words could come out. Word suddenly lost all its power. It became shallow, meaningless, and so effing funny. I could not comfort her, couldn’t help her, couldn’t even lie to her.

What could I say?

Hi, girl, everything will be all right!

How could I know?

Life goes on.

That’s supposed to comfort her? When the time alone has become the biggest enemy and she’s excruciatingly aware of every second ticking by?

Live your own life and screw everyone else.

Ha, what a big, fat joke. Because the others matter. I know it, and she knows it. What they say about her, how they look at her matters. If she tried to forget that, they would be dame sure giving you a refreshing lesson.

How could God play such a cruel joke on her? Oh, God, if you existed, if you were here, please, please leave her alone. She have enough, a woman can only take that much. Make a way for her.
