The weather forecast said that the temperature would drop several C’s, but when I left Chengdu, it still had not happened. A sweater was all I needed. Before I left, I googled the weather in Beijing and I knew what’s waiting for me. Still, nothing had prepared me for this.
I’ve been to Beijing for several times, but never in this season. I brought enough cloth to keep me warm. Chill in the air was real not the problem. What made me uncomfortable is the Dry.
My mouth went dry, and my skin started to get red. As if no enough water I drank could quench my thirsty, no moisture good enough to keep my skin healthy. The air here could always suck the moisture out of my body.
The hotel was located in Wangjing, close to our company. The room was big and comfortable. But we really need more air to breathe. The air-conditioner turned so high that it didn’t warm up the room, but heat it up. As soon as I stepped into the room, I realized that I made a mistake. I should not bring my down coat into the winter of Beijing, but should bring my skirt instead. Really! The heat-up room made the air even drier, if that possible.
I was suffocating and---sweating.
