The 270th blog and Me (第270篇博客)

854 views. 2011-12-21 11:07 |Individual Classification:Reflection|

This is the No.270th  blog I wrote in dioenglish.  270 blogs in total. You might feel a bit impressive about this number. However, wait until I told you about this. Dioenglish is not the first place I started blogging in English. My first blog might be backdated to five years ago. Since I already moved most of my blogs to dioenglish, the total number would not be more than 300. 300 writings in 5 years---that’s far from enough, in fact, from this angle, it’s a pitiful number.

The day I started writing in English is even much earlier. Back to my colleague when the internet is still new to the public, and the word “blog” “twitter” have not even been born, I wrote my first story in English---a story about a female bodyguard and her employer. At that time, Kevin Costner with his Bodyguard roared into screen larger than all-the-larger-than-life we’ve never seen. My roommates and I all had a little crush on him and soon this movie had become the dominant subject in our night chat. Inspired by this, I wrote a story in my broken Chinglish. It’s not easy. I struggled for words, tumbled with grammar, and frustrated by my limited imagination. However, I managed it, from the beginning to the very end, in a pretty notebook. Too bad that I could no longer find that notebook. Like that, my first story was locked deep down in my brain, with only a vague memory about it lingered. However, this experience opened a brand new way to express myself.

My life is a journey full of struggles for self-confidence. No matter how I’ve changed, there is always an awkward girl too shy for words lives inside me. Writing is always the way I’ve ever able to express myself properly, without it, I feel as if I live only half life.

Someone once asked me this question: “What’s your major accomplishment? Something you did that you are really proud of?”

I told him it’s my English blog. I’ve kept at it for years and I would keep doing it.

But I lied, because I know I should have done much better. I’ve not tried harder enough. Here I’d like to use this opportunity to thank a friend I met here: Snowflying. I saw persistence, determination and great efforts in her writing. For the past six month, she kept doing it, touching everyone with her enthusiasm and warm heart. Honestly, her English is not the best here, but we’ve all observed what an improvement she’s made.

Because of her, I know I should try harder.

Blogging helps me to do that. I think it's a good habit to keep a record of life. I'll go on with it and try to write as much as i could.

heheeee, dear, difficult to imagine your writing history, so long past trace, but comparing with your nature, that's not enough ,i think. eeeee.....sorry , i made the past mistakes too, i'm so outspoken again here, hehe., but i have been used to say my true words in your space,  so my dear, you must suffer it,ahaaa..

your english so wonderful, till now so new words to me, i wonder why you have so new words in your pretty brain? right, "broken Chinglish", that's mine. i think i 'm in this stage forever, my english always those old simple words, always so many grammar mistakes  too. my poor english had upset me, but now i adjust my goal to a lower one, if i can express myself sorts of clearly, that's ok.

i think, words is really a kind of need for you. though this say said out from my mouth. in your life, words is so important to you. your pretty english words have poured a full yourself out before us. we can know a wonderful heart with rich imagination and tiny emotions.文字是一种需要,right? certainly, that's your answer coming from your inner heart.

so ashamed to hear you say so, can i inspire you? really my great honour. no, dear, you are a tree that i can't effect. maybe i quit someday, but you will be here, i believe, so write for yourself, write for your heart, write what you wanna write, on and on. cheers!

Of course you've inspired me. I really have learned a lot from you. as much as l love it, writing could be really frustrated and exhausting. Even a good writer could have gone through "write block", let alone a person like me. most of time i stopped writing simply because I was not in the right mood. But you can always find something to write, how can you manage that?

thanks, but stop saying that. It made me even more embarrassing. Really, like I said, 300 writings in five years---what a pitiful number. I would never boldly say that i have fans, i prefer say that I've made a lot of pen friends

I've never devoloped a habit of keeping a diary. I remember that the last time I did it was about 20 years ago. I wrote about my daily activities because that was part of the homework required by my junior high school teacher. I understand how romantic it is for a person in his old age to read the diaries he has kept about his youthful years , but I am just too lazy and keeping a diary is simply not my thing. I came to this website to write blogs  in the hope of improving my English. But as you can find out easiy, I am such an inactive bogger that I seldom update my blogs.  So I think that Bluephoebe, snowflying, rich and many others set really good examples for me.

Like I always said that learning English is a lifelong project. You rest, you rust, as simple as that. Therefore we have to make it as interesting as possible, that is, to find our own way to learn English. I like writing and reading, so I keep writing and reading in English in case to loose touch. Even perhaps the best way to learn it is read aloud and talk with the others. but read alond is never my thing. i could never follow Liyang's way. My learning certainly has its flaws. I can read and write, but coming to speaking, I'm totally a mess-up. You don't like writing blogs, but you come here to leave comments. I would never say that you are an inactiver blogger.

We have all come through that stage. I read your writings, and I don't much difference between you and me. I would never say that i am at a higher level. Writing can be frustrating and exhausting, but it also has fun. So let's keep doing it
