One thing I don’t like my job is handling figures. I can prepare reports or meeting minutes within a short time, I can run multiple systems my job required without any problem, I can make analysis from raw data and take right direction upon that, but figures always confuse me. It took me two whole days to sort 2011 sales figure out. Such sorting-out should not take so much time and troubles. All I need to do is to break down every month’s figure first by competence and customer, then get a year’s value of each item. I double checked and checked, but this morning I still find one figure couldn’t match-up. It took me three hours to locate the problem. I managed to hand in at the last minute. I felt dizzy and a bit embarrassed---in my company I am known as quick-hand. Glad it’s just once-a-year thing.
During lunch, J found that my face had paled and asked what’s wrong. It embarrassed me to tell him that was all because of the “figure problem”, so I told him that my tooth hurt---not a complete lie, my tooth did hurt.
At afternoon, Auntie (clean lady) handed me a few fruits and said softly: “You should take a few minutes off, you work too hard.” Our company has fruit supply, but these days I’ve been so occupied with my work that I often forgot to take it. Auntie is a shy lady, and we only have exchange a few words. I never expected that she would have cared about me. In this rigid winter, the warmth inside suddenly went through my body, making me smile. Thanks, my dear co-workers.
Thank God. It’s all over now.
