Today, I finally ordered takeout—a roasted fish from the 7fresh. It’s heavy, greasy, spicy, not very healthy but so damn good.

Cooking has become one of the biggest challenges for me during coronavirus outbreak; in fact, it comes in the second of the top 10 challenges, just right after being an assistant teacher to my son.

It’s the 34th day that we have to stay at home all day---no eating out, no takeout. Therefore I have to prepare three meals a day for my family during this whole 34 days. What a great achievement.

In fact it’s going to drive me crazy. I know, for some of us, this might be the opportunity to hone their cooking skills as well as a good way to kill the time. One of my husband’s friends has done it so well that he takes the picture of his cooking and share it with us every day.

I, on the contrary, had already run out of my poorly-stored recipes within about 10 days. And I don’t have the least interests in finding out more---so, it’s just a repeated and annoying must-to-do.

And the limited choices for the food materials have made it worse—if possible. Since we can’t go to the grocery store, we purchase all our foods online. You can’t help but admire those who act so fast to capture the opportunities even under such a difficult situation. Within just a few days, online grocery stores, APPs have emerged out of nowhere. Still, the choice is limited.

Today’s takeout is another sign that everything will soon come back to normal. Thank God for that.
