Last Sunday I went to the hospital to change my bandage. My appointment with the doctor was 8 am. However, when we arrived there, I was told that without a COVID-9- virus- free pass, I couldn’t enter the ward, which means I need to have my blood tested.
For God sake, I was just released from the hospital after the surgery. I had to stay at home all the time with my wounds hurt, and with three drainage tubes attached to me. I didn’t have any chance to expose myself to the virus until now. To prove that I am COVID-19 free, I got to plunge into the only place where I might catch the virus—blood test room, always over-crowded and stuffy. Safe distance is a joke here.
It took me one hour to wait for my turn to have my blood tested and another six hours to get my test result. I really didn’t know what to say. It’s a hell of half-day where I broke almost all of the after-surgery codes. Great.
I truly understand that rule is rule, which requires every one to follow. I just would be more than appreciated to be informed of those rules in advance. No more till-the-last-moment notice and no more surprise. Thanks.
