Sorry to keep you waiting so long for the continuation of 'Pizza & Tea', my friends. Here what I'm sure is that you'd be very disappointed about my following story 'cos it has little to do with that evening.
(Jul.17, 2009)
Well, speak of yesterday evening, Bessie and I soon met Nithin and his friend at the entrance of Suguo and Nithin drove us to a coffee shop nearby. We did enjoy our dinner there. < The 'Current Account' is done here.>
As is well known, Italy is famous for Pizza. Related experts and scholars have a common idea that nowadays' millions of pizzas baked each day throughout the world are originated with a baker in Naples, Italy around 200 years ago. This afternoon, I happened to meet Andrea, an Italian friend online. As naturally we talked about pizza which I had eaten yesterday evening. He was quite shocked when I told him I tried fruit pizza and he considered it was a blasphemy. 'It was strange', he said, 'why not try some simple pizza margherita? 'The question was I had no idea about 'margherita' before his explanation and I found the fruit pizza was not that bad. Is it that serious?
I couldn't understand him until I did some searching. It turns out that there are only 2 kinds of pizzas are authentic Naples pizza, they are 'Margherita' and 'Marinara'. Another question arises then. How can we get authentic pizza in a small developing city? Anyway, pizza doesn't interest me so much.
What happened later may help me understand Andrea better about his surprise of 'fruit pizza'.
It was their morning when it was afternoon here because of the time difference. Andrea liked to have a cup of tea after he got up in the morning. His father bought tea from China and his mother made it for him the night before. All he needed to do was to heat it in the microwave oven. It makes sense so far although I d't get what kind of tea he had and how did his mother make the tea, since in China we steep tea in boiling water. ‘I did a stupid thing, ’ he told me this afternoon, ‘someone had changed salt and sugar jars, so I put salt into tea and it tasted awful.’ 'Can't you distinguish salt from sugar?' I joked him with an understanding smile. 'Is it milk tea as you wanted to take sugar in it,' I asked. 'No,just tea,', he answered, 'I like tea with sugar.' 'What?!' It was my turn to be shocked。。。。。。
