It is said that Zhangjiajie is a picturesque place worth visiting and I went there while on a business trip three weeks ago. The weather was very hot and I was almost dehydrated under the burning sun. The mountains are not as beautiful as I had imagined but one sight spot called Jinbianxi left me good impression. When walking along the Jinbianxi, I was embraced by the gentle breeze passing through the Bamboo groves. Some of the wild monkeys were very naughty, jumping up and down the bamboo trees, while others sat quietly, seemly to enjoy their leisure life, peering at tourists occasionally. The stream is fair, cool and refreshing and many tourists stretched their feet out to it, enjoying the slight chill of water. There are also some vendors selling some accessories near the Jinbianxi. The accessories are quite delicate and the price is unusual cheap.

Another place I visited this time is phoenix town. Phoenix town is famous for the sites of men of literature and minor culture group (Miao minority and Tu minority). Because of the hot weather, I haven’t found much interest in day time. But the night trip is quite unforgettable. Watching wishing lamps (in the shape of lotus and peony) drifting away the water like shining stars, I was stroked by happy feeling. There are many houses of bamboo on the both sides of river, most of which are bars and small shops. My colleagues and I went into one of the bars, listening to the music, drinking tea and at the same time leafing through the messages of tourists. It is a kind of enjoyment…

Mengdong River is my last stop in this trip. I used weekend to go there. The drift there is the longest and most beautiful drift I have ever seen. The whole process took us about two and half hours. I was attracted by beautiful mountains, clear water and some folk stories boatman told me. When riptide came, we were all wet but happy. Some of my colleagues even went swimming when we were in tranquil-flow water. Mengdong is a place really worth visiting.
