What are the differences between the agricultural and non-agricultural registered permanent residence? Who knows, and what is your opinion on it?
There’s a view in some people’s mind that registered permanent residence stands for one’s status. The peasant-workers have suffered various discrimination and unequal treatment after entering cities. The agricultural residence was regarded as a crowd who were rude and churlish. Majority of people think having an urban registered permanent residence is an honor, and sometimes actually, it’s also an advantage to gain a better position.
Because of having graduated from the university, I was required by my parents to change the Hefei urban registered permanent residence to my hometown agricultural one. When I was taking some days’ leave in company, my manager told me the fault. He said, “you are foolish to do about the registered permanent residence. You will pay more sacrifice to getting what you have obtained at present.” Perhaps, he was right, but I did as my parents’ words. I don’t want to see their disappointed face. After ingoing registered permanent residence, my parents asked me, “are you regretful?”. I answered “no”.
I said to myself, “I am pleased to do it if you’d like, my dear Mom and Dad”
Maybe, in my young mind, the different registered permanent residence has no differences, and it is the equality between the citizens and peasants.
