Yang Rui, host at the program called Dialogue in CCTV-NEWS, and Li Bing, deputy producer of the English Channel, have given a lecture this afternoon at SISU. Both Yang and Li are alumni of SISU.

This lecture is part of the campus recruitment campaign of CCTV-NEWS, with famous hosts addressing speeches in universities, including Peking University, Renming University of China, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Communication University of China and the last stop, SISU. This recruitment campaign is open to the entire country which is the first time that CCTV-NEWS does.

First of all, Li gave a brief introduction on CCTV-NEWS and extended his eagerness for new blood. Secondly, the most applauded part, Yang gave a speech titled “Who is misinterpreting China” which was warmly applauded by all the students. Thirdly, SISU students held a program, coping that of Dialogue, called Dialogue at SISU, discussing the issue of who is misinterpreting China. Yang was invited to join the program and be their guest. Fourthly, the last part, Q&A time, during which students felt free to ask questions to Yang and Li.

I participated in the Dialogue at SISU part and asked a question to Yang. Frankly, I felt very nervous to stand up and speak in front of so many people but I made it! When the co-host suggested that it was time for question, I raised my hand high up above my head. I stood up with a butterfly in my stomach. I told him that he was my idol, which was not, frankly, and shared my personal experience of the misinterpreting on China and at last, put a question. OH MY GOD! I was too excited, over-excited to talk directly to him!

After the whole lecture, I asked Yang for his autograph and jokingly told him that I really like the hairstyle of Tian Wei, the other host in Dialogue program.

This was an eventful afternoon. I felt very satisfied with what I had done---putting a question, asking for an autograph and making a joke.

I see opportunities. I need to be prepared and my mind needs to be clear about the direction.
