i donated blood finally and felt quite relieved for doing so, maybe because in the university where i'm studying, you will get substantial extra credit if you donate blood, which very probably means a scholarship worth of 1000 yuan.
for students in CHINA,scholarship is more of an honor than a way to afford college.it's not unusual to see students pushing and shoving for just one or two thousand yuan.extra-curriculum featuring extra credit will unexceptionally attracts students' eyes.of course it's not just about money.for some reason, people considered students with such"honor" superior and excellent. scholarship and opportunities are so closely intertwined that students sometimes have to "go the extra mile "to cater to its weird and even distorted standard .
i'm not against scholarship because people respond to incentives however,it's up to debate whether students are competing under fair judgement.for example,in my university, there's no ghost of chance for scholarship if you're poorly graded in "morality and ethics",even if you're an astounding academical achiever
but here comes the problem.first "morality and ethics"is a abstract concept,it cannot be quantitized. secondly, does it mean that you're immoral if you don't donate blood or if you're late for class.it's just ridiculous.
in fact you're living in a world where a hell lot of absurd rules and standards will hamper you from being "yourself".but it's just no way to survive if you don't play the game under the rules.life is just like a tough battle between ego and the outside world.by making compromises one after another, you finally find where you truly belong and eventually settle down.
