here i am ,exhausted and furious, fresh out of finishing writing 12 mini-reports for school sports meeting.writing encouraging words for athletes to cheer them up and boost morale in the first place is a meaningful thing to do ,as long as they're written with sincerity and emotions.but now it has become an annoying compulsion instead of emotional revelation.it is dictated by our school that each student should write 12 reports about the sports meeting, each containing 300 words.students disobeying this regulation will have their credits deducted.i'm wondering who on earth came up with such a silly and absurd idea.
1.the school is in no position to impose extra restrictions on students out of its own concern, with no regard of our basic rights and freedom.
2.schools other than ours give no such mandatory requirements
3.it's a tradition in our college that only freshmen are obliged to take part or spectate the sports meeting.the rest are granted their own choice to make
4.the reports written by us will not be broadcasted in the radio station.instead they willjust be discarded like heaps of rubbish
the only reason "justifying" such a ridiculous rule is that the more reports a school forwards the more likely it will receive a "spiritual civilization" prize.
i think u all know the chinglish meaning of "spiritual civilization".i don't see piles of papers with meaningless scrabbled words on it have anything to do with "spiritual civilization".plus the only party that will benefit from such an "honor" is the officials and "leaders" in the executive department in our school.then what about the students.have u ever considered the time they've wasted in writing those silly phony reports? why do people like to impose their own likes and dislikes on others.
it's universally acknowledged that college is where students are nurtured and cultivated to be well-rounded people ,like Oxford ,Cambridge, Yale and Harvard which produced generations of astounding achievers who have made a huge difference.unfortunately ,in china it's just not the case.with the ever expanding enrollment, the once sacred ivory tower was degenerated into a stained and contaminated world where earnest pursuit for knowledge is ruthlessly replaced by impetuous drive for fame and profit.it's a outright catastrophe and shame!!! i shudder to think what will happen to china in the foreseeable future if there's no change made in the current regime.
