recently i logged on some websites about interpretation and translation where people exchange english learning tips and share some resources with each other.to be honest,it has always been my dream to be an interpreter.i'm spurred into action by the glamour and splendor of those successful interpreters at the same time feel humbled by the great distance to be covered to achieve my goal. to be an interpreter especially an excellent one is never easy.i know it.however the more details i get about being an interpreter, the more uncertain i feel about my future.
most people have some misunderstandings about an interpretor ,myself included.a person who speaks english like native may fail to be a good interpretor.anyway english proficiency is just one of the basics.
here's the my formula of being a good interpretor
a good interpreter = proficiency in at least two languages +a wide range of knowlege+ good short-term memory+ a composed mind + good health condition
so i really have a long way to go. but no matter how stark and bleak the reality is ,it can never shadow the gloss and glitter of my dream.
ideals are just stars,we can never reach them, but like mariners ,we chart our course by them.it's exactly the same with dream.what matters most is by striving for my dream, i'm gradually being consumated.
yeah ,go go go linda~~you can make it!!!!
