- In this sentence, most of the words are omitted "my tutor and i." If you think of it as a sentence, you will discover you should write "me and my tutor" or "my tutor and me." Why? You could say "This is a photo of my tutor and me." Or "This is me." So, now you can understand why "I" is not the right word. If you use "I", you should write it as "I" and not "i"; but here the word "me" is correct.

- jeffery: why are u always so formal ,can't we use it informal and casual,Part of my goal here is to teach good writing. I certainly realize some people enjoy writing informally, especially in internet chat. But there is an additional and related reason.

I find that even some Chinese teachers of English cannot write good English. They are very surprised when I explain how childish their writing looks to me. As an American, my relatives tend to write emails and chat in what you call a formal manner. To my generation, this type of writing is what we do all the time.
Nevertheless, I no generation X uses shortcuts. LOL. U2 many like them. LMAO! The next generation is changing the langauage ASAP. BG. Language changes. The younger generation may change the way we use language. That is to be expected.
I'm a professional editor. I see common mistakes written by Chinese scientists in their research papers. If they tried to have them published with those errors, the scienitific journals would reject them. They pay me a good wage to help them improve. On Dioenglish, I'm trying to provide a similar service for free!!!
I hope that explains it. I just want to help anyone who wants to write better English.
