Mammoths are just one of the many herbivores to enjoy the summer bounty. There all animals in their own ways build for the cold. The mammoth and bison have their characteristic shaggy coats. While the saiga antelopes have another ?( aptation?). All noses help them warm up the air before they breathe it. With so much game, it is not surprising there’re also predators.

Humans hunt on this plain in summer. They have no physical ?( aptation?) to cope with the cold, but instead, wear animal hides or weave cloth to protect themselves. These predators specialize in small prey. Seldom hunt anything that’s big and dangerous as mammoths.

The mammoths are none or less very important to them. What so little wood on the top of plain. They collect the ?(tasks?) of the dead animals to build huts. And even they use their bones for fuels. These most inventive creatures are capable of making the most of every resource?( of angle?).

Of all the summer visitors, the most numerous are the flies, which are uncomforted source of invitation for the mammoth. The humans, however, have learnt to do something to abide them. They grind up the paste made of mineral gold ocher which helps keep the insects fade.

Come the autumn, this plain will become a freezing hell hole. So the mammoths make the most of the summer while they can. They eat up to a hundred and eighty kilogram’s grass a day while the males mate the females as possible.
